Three of mine were natural, in fact the hubby and doctors joked with me since they were also fast. I would give birth within 30 minutes, so the phrase was (of course) 30 minutes or your money back. However, with my fourth (and last) I had to be induced. The labor was longer, but was told if I hadn;t induced then he would've been much bigger.

In the past (baby 3) I did try using other methods to induce my own labor, none of which worked.

I was induced with Sarah. She tried to come early and I had to take meds to stop labor. Then, when it was safe, I was allowed to stop them and she did not come. For a couple of weeks. My doctor gave me the option of being induced. When Sarah was born, I pushed for hours before she came and when she did , she weighed 9lbs 14 ounces and she was so large, that she broke her collar bone coming out. Who knows how much longer that she would have waited, but if she was much bigger, I would have had to have a c-section.

I am 100% satisfied with my decision. I think waiting could have endangered her health.

I feel that it is a decision to be made between the mother and the dr. A sister who has never been through a pregnancy has no business talking about it to the media. That last part, it's so hard. You are uncomfortable and exhausted. I imagine it's much worse for Ashlee - she's carrying twins, right?

When I was 37 weeks pregnant, my body was covered in the PUPPS rash (the itchiest thing known to man), I was on bedrest for high blood pressure, and I wanted that baby OUT! I remember asking to be induced but the doctor said not until I was 39 weeks AND dilated 3cm AND 80% effaced... it didn't happen. My baby came on her own (5 days early, thank goodness), and the labor was hard enough without being induced that I'm glad we did it the way we did. I've heard that being induced can cause the contractions to be more painful and come on fast, but I have no experience with that so I can't say if it's true. I do sympathize with Ashlee about wanting to induce, though I think it's best to let the baby come on its own. Now if she goes a week overdue then by all means get the kid out before the placenta dies or something!

No way. Every single one of mine was exactly 21 days late. Yep..I have 43 week pregnancies..the only onethat was induced was the first because she was born in a hospital and that is what they did. WOrst labor ever. If there are no problems, baby is moving, things are good...wait it out..labor is shorter and easier.
