Aussie Couple in Hiding due to Vaccinations

August 23, 2008 by Eliza Ferree

An Aussie couple that do not want their newborn boy vaccinated against Hepatitis B after they were diagnosed with it are now on the run. Apparently the case went to the court and the judge said, Yes, they needed to vaccinate the little guy, but they didn’t want to hear it and have taken off. They are not living in their house as officers have already went there to locate them.

The vaccination is said to prevent the disease which leads to cirrhosis and liver cancer. However they feel that the aluminum in the vaccination along with the large dose would be more harmful to him. The couple also had a daughter in 2005 that they never got her vaccinations either.

Currently authorities have no clue where the family are hiding, however they have been making statements to the local newspapers, so it would be safe to believe they are still in Australia. While not all babies are forced to be immunized it is mandatory that any child born to a mom that tested positive for Hepatitis B must be given the shot within the first 12 hours and four more times by the time they are 6 months old.

I have a friend who did not want to have her children vacinated. I know that they can be controversial with the possiblity of harmful side effects. My friend’s son, he goes to our school and I’m pretty sure that the kids have to be vacinnated before public school. It’s not the kind of thing that I can ask her, but now I’m very curious. She takes the kids to Japan for awhile every year, so I imagine they come into contact with a huge number of people from other countries while traveling.
