Birth Order May Determine a Successful Marriage

A divorce website was recently asked if birth order actually determined how well you would do in marriage. The idea is that only children shouldn’t marry another only child as they are use to getting spoiled, first borns are leaders so should NOT marry another first born cause they’ll bump heads. However, middle children are more likely to have the successful marriage since they always dealt with the fighting and were peace keepers.

I’d like to try to do a study on this. If you don’t mind I’d like to know what birth order you were and if you have been divorced, are married or never been married. As for myself, sometimes it is a struggle but you must work for your marriage to work. Many just give up when things get tough but it is those that stick through it that come out a little bit stronger. I’ve just celebrated 12 years of marriage and I am the first born. He is also a first born. What are your opinions? Do you think it depends if you were first born or last?

  1. Kadi says:

I am the eldest of three girls. I am bossy, a leader, compulsive and stubborn.
My husband of ten years is the tenth of thirteen. He is also stubborn, but knows how to keep the peace. He often tells me that there is no point in arguing with me because I’ll have my way in the end, so he just gives in.
    Smart man. :)
I am working on being less bossy and more considerate and compromising. It is not easy. Thank God my husband loves me so much.

  2. My husband is the first born and I am the baby (2nd born). I feel that I am the peace maker, but he probably wouldn’t agree with that. I guess there comes a time when you can only put up with so much crap. lol We’ve been married for 14 years. heehee
