Ready for Bloggy Giveaway #5? Oh sure you are, you know you are loving this week. If not, you should be with over 800 giveaways going on and over 50 alone at b5media blogs. WOW! This has been such a huge turn out.
Well, Tessy and Tab wanted to get in on this and I must say I can’t blame them. Upon looking into exactly what they wanted to offer I am really interested in the items they have. Okay, who here has children? Umm, yeah that’s what I thought. How many of those kids know what a tv is? Can they sing any theme songs? Okay, how about commericials?
Tessy and Tab are going to give one lucky winner the Tessy and Tab’s TV Turnoff Kit. What is it? Well imagine the tv not working for an entire day (or more), yes I’m sure that drives fear through some of you. But if it happened would you be prepared? With Tessy and Tab’s TV turnoff kit you would.
Consists of:
Informational pamphlet on “6-Step Plan”
activity plan (chart) which gives many ideas
4 reading books
Picture Chart for Family Discussion
family schedule (chart)
Want to win it: Leave a comment telling me what you do with your family when the television isn’t on. Don’t forget to visit Tessy and Tab and view the other products they have. I like the Super Starter Kit.Deadline: Midnight, April 26th and I”ll announce the winner on April 27th. Make sure you leave an email address for me.

We rarely have the TV on, and we spend alot of time reading books and playing…the boys would love this!
My kids have gotten in the habit of watching way too much tv these last few weeks, we’re moving in 3 weeks and I’ve been spending every spare minute packing & such. NORMALLY if the girls don’t come up with their own entertainment, we play games, read stories, go outside, make cookies . . .
great ideas. Thanks for the giveaways, Kathy
READ! READ! READ!!!! My daughter is in middle school and they are required to read a book a week, which is not always that easy (unless they are small books) so she knows she MUST read as much as she possibly can during the week.
My son (8) honestly does not watch much TV. He never was much of a TV watcher (THANKFULLY!). He would much rather play with his toys which is fine with us.
We also take our dog for a long walk (as a family) or go out for ice cream or to the park.
We play board games, take walks in our neighborhood, jump on the trampoline, blow bubbles, we love to be outside!!
We go on walks or play with the duplos or train set.
We love learning new games. My husband brought home a new one just this week called Settler of Catan. fun game!
what do we do when the tv is turned off? talk about tv of course!!!
just kidding, we seem to sing a lot and talk about deep issues like how to treat animals ethically, disease and nutrition. We also work in the garden a lot this time of year which is great for team building.
I’m a huge fan of TV turnoff week! You should see my giveaway! Great idea!
we love to play games! card games, board games, etc
we also like to read!!!
We have no-TV weeks, patterned after the Berenstein Beras. They are hard at first, but by the end of the week we are all adjusted. We end up reading more and spending a lot more time outside.
i love having the tv off because it is usually on all the time we play games upstairs and eat a bunch of junkfood its alot of fun
When we don’t have the TV on, we play card/board games. We also read books together.
I love to read to my son and play with his puzzles with him since he LOVES puzzles.
great idea – plse count me in! i’m playing along too – come visit!
how cool is this..count me in
I would love this kit…we have gone through periods of no TV…but out of desperation on crazy days it seems to creep back in to our lives. I would love to give this a try.
When we do manage to turn the TV off we usually manage to get so much more done: we have a cleaner house, healthier meals, all things that my son helps with. We also tend to do more reading, being creative with Lego, and walks on the trails outside of our home.
Thanks for this awesome giveaway.

When the TV is off, we go to baseball games, play outside, draw, go to a museum, go to the library. That being said, we still watch way too much TV! LOL I’d love to win this giveaway and help my child realize that yes, there really *is* more to life than TV.
Board games
Hi, “Tessy and Tab” is a great learning tool that is fun! We really don’t have the television on that much! My husband is a baseball fan and we will watch baseball games on the tv. If the weather permits, our family spend a lot of time in our back
yard. Playing catch, eating dinner on the deck, playing with our dog, etc. We also have beautiful bike trails everywhere in our area, so we utilize them often. Please enter me in your drawing.
Thanks,Cindi
We go for walks, play in the backyard, read books, play Leapster and color when the TV is off.
we play board games or go out and ride our bikes together
Play games or go for ice cream.
Thanks.
Play outside!!! YEAH SPRING!!!
We watch too much tv, love to check this out!
Enter me, too!
We love playing outside no matter what season! Sledding, running, playing on the swingset…Love it outside!
My kids are older (18 and 26), but special needs. My son in particular has trouble finding books that are interesting to him that are not too hard for him to read. So, for years now, I read to them during dinner. I’ve read everything from Robinson Crusoe and The Hunchback of Notre Dame to all of the Harry Potter books and all of the Narnia books. We’re currently on Elder, the sequel to Eregon. I think next we may go back to the Oz books. (I’ve only read the first 4 of those to them.) If anyone has some great suggestions, I’d appreciate it!
We love playing outside and boardgames. Our favorite board game is monopoly!
the kids enjoy board games in winter and biking in summer
usually work or play in the yard
We’d have fun with this! We try to have the tv off a lot. We’ll play with toys, create or play outside instead.
we bake, play princesses, have tea parties and do crafts, we made play dough yesterday
We are learning to do jigsaw puzzles, and we LOVE to hassle the dogs!
If it’s nice out, we play soccer. Inside, we play Star Wars and Polly Pockets (yes, together) and read books.
we read books.
Preschool Money Manager Kit I like this one too.
When the t.v is off, we sit on the front porch and catch up with one another.
Our family plays board games on a regular basis. My older children claim this as one of their best childhood memories.
We play games and read to each other… or go outside and enjoy the nice weather playing at a park. This is a great giveaway! Thanks, Marissa
We live at the beach, so it is’nt that difficult. We love books, watching the baby ducks pop out of the Marsh, smaller than baseballs! We walk Hank Williams (Hank) our Chesapeake..watch him swim and ride the waves..Spring break is here, the beach is filling up.
We are pretty big tv addicts, and really are trying to take steps to change that — especially for our kids. When we turn it off, we do everything from reading to board games, going out for a walk or even doing things independantly but in the same room just to be close. Sometimes we put music on and our girls perform “dancing shows” for us! Thanks for the giveaway!
We read, do compuer stuff, bake, cook and play outside!
We play outside, read together or do crafts together.
We play games. We love Big Trouble, Sorry, and the kids love Candyland.
