Britney Spears Uses Hot Sauce to Wean Son from Pacifier

Okay, I know there will be some of you that agree and others that don’t. Speak up now. Rumor has it Britney Spears hasn’t got Sean Preston, age 3, to stop sucking on his pacifier so she’s now trying hot sauce. Some believe this is cruel, other say it is just old school. What do you think? Here’s what she was quoted in saying to Star Magazine.
“Preston is still hooked on his pacifier, and Britney had to get creative to find a way to make him stop asking for it,” a source close to the singer tells Star Magazine.
Just one dab of the spicy sauce, and Preston wants nothing to do with his “paci,”
the tabloid writes.
I want to hear all those stories of how you weaned your child from the bottle/breast/pacifier. I don’t care if it was hot chili peppers or cold turkey, any and all stories in the comments please. Other moms are going to come across this looking for ways to wean or just wanting to know they weren’t the only ones that tried it.
Just tear off a little piece at a time until there is nothing left to put in the mouth.
Cold turkey at 17 months. The first car ride and nap after we took it away was rough, but she is great about it now.
We didn’t really use pacifiers so the kids didn’t get hooked on them in the first place.
I got rid of all but one, that one I cut the nipple off. I told her it must of broke and we will have to get a new one, then we ’searched’ all over for the other ones. She did asks for a new paci a few times at the store but I just told her they only had the baby ones and they were too small for her but maybe next time. She never cried we just spent a lot of time ’searching’ for the missing ones.
i put hissing roaches and juice in a bottle and left it on the counter showed my little sister and she never picked up the bottle again. she was 2 almost 3yrs old, sounds mean but it worked and she didnt end up with bottled rotted teeth like her brother who had all his teeth removed by the time he was 3 !
Our son is six months old, and has never had a pacifier (or a bottle). So we won’t ever have to wean him from it. Some babies do great without a pacifier, so don’t assume that you have to have one – if you don’t, you never have to deal with getting them to give it up.
