Dealing with Motherhood Stress

Stress and motherhood are not twins. Once all your children are of school age, I understand the stresses of this period of giving all one’s energy to the constant care and attention of young children is completely forgotten, just like labor pains.

It’s amazing. The more stress I have, the more I learn about what triggers my stress (too little sleep, not enough exercise, not enough intimacy, feeling over-worked all the time). The more I learn about stress, though, the more the immediate stress relievers I wrote about a year ago work.

I just wish I could change my lifestyle enough that there weren’t quite so many triggers. I suppose I could start going to bed at 9:30 pm and eliminate all attempts to spend time with my husband. I could take up an exercise class one evening a week and blog a little less often.

Have you managed to change your lifestyle and reduce your motherhood stress? What, exactly did you do? The rest of us need your help!
