Did You Have Baby Shower?

With my first child I was newly married, lived in a new town and didn’t know anyone. Having a baby shower was out of the question. I barely left the house and couldn’t imagine having my own baby shower. Many moms feel this same way but today more and more are getting out of this feeling and having their own. Why? Simple answer is they know what type of baby shower they’ve always dreamed of and know how they want it done.
If you had a baby shower, what type was it? Want to share your memories? I have had baby showers but only with two of my kids.

I actually had three showers for my daughter. I was due at the end of January. My mother-in-law couldn’t contain herself and threw one with my husband’s family in November. In December, the ladies of my church wanted to have one for me. At the beginning of January, my family threw one for me. It was pretty exhausting, really.
I hope people don’t try to throw one for this next child. I really just want to do a welcome home baby type of thing.
I had a baby shower with my first child. It was hosted by my long time friend and co-author at Thrifty Mommy, Kelly.
We moved a few weeks after my first was born and the church we started attending gave us another shower.
With my second child, our church gave us a shower and then my aunt gave us one in my hometown.
I was fortunate to have 2 showers with each child. I have to say that I don’t know what I would do without my church families. They are such a vital part of our lives. I actually met Kelly and Robyn (from Yahoo!) at church. It’s a good way to get plugged in and meet people too. Sorry, I ramble when I’m tired!
