Escapism or Inspired Adventure?

I’ve been reading Carol Drinkwater’s books about her house in the South of France. I’m not jealous. These days, I am just happy to be reminded that there are people in this world who live the lives they want by doing exactly what they want to do. I think it’s possible, even when we have children to care for, to live an adventurous life.
No, I’m not going sky diving or bungee jumping or even hand gliding.
I do, though, think it’s completely possible to live one’s dream. Having children, being a mother and growing with them is part of my dream. Showing them more of the world and the people in it is part of the effort to educate a whole family. It takes a lot more planning and there is less money to invest in it, but adventure and excitement are not strangers to parents. Are they?
