Fever Broke!

The Wednesday Night was hard, with barely any sleep as I was too worried about Little A having a fever. Giving him amoxicilin for his ear and tylenol wasn’t doing the trick and since this was roughly his first real time being sick he was scared. All day yesterday he was the same, as a groggy mommy tried comforting but only holding him would work.
Unfortuneatly my body is the type most hate, it throws off a ton of heat. Finally the two of us crashed in the afternoon for about two hours, this was much needed sleep for both of us. He continued to sleep and became very excited about an hour after he woke up. No longer were his cheeks flushed or skin hot. We’d done it, we’d broke his temperature and while he may still be sick he is no longer feverish. Woo hoo!
Do you remember those late nights when you stayed up all night watching your little one sleep, taking temps, etc? Now do you remember when their fevers finally broke?

Three painfully long days and nights just last week…
sorry to hear yours was sick. Is he better?
Well… better than before, yes. Better completely, no. We’re day to day on going back to the doc at this point. If his cough doesn’t improve more and his nose stop getting worse, we’ll be back at the doc’s office. I feel like I live there! Fortunately, I think I might be able to go in with another couple I work with to get a nanny! I am SO looking forward to it…even the possibility makes me giddy. Our kids already play together and all that jazz, so it’d be just the two of them and a nanny… well, maybe three if this other lady we know wants to join us too!
Sorry for the hijack, and here is to a day/time with no runny nose, cough, fever and whatever else is ailing our kids!
Hijack no way all moms need to vent it out a little. Trust me, I know. I have four and all are sick. Two older are fighting like siblings of course, two younger ones just want mommy but don’t want to share. Youngest he finally has no fever but the cough sounds worse. Frustrating, just wish I could kiss their forehead and away it would go.
Nanny? That sounds neat. Good luck with that. As for the doctor, ikkk. This was our first visit EVER to a regular doctor…in other words without being in the military so we left their paying $200. Ikkk. I so don’t like doctor visits when all four have to visit. Course they were more than happy to see us. Hmmm, wonder why?
I remember the days of crappy insurance and spending tons of money on care. It is one of the reasons I went back to federal employment. Say what you want about certain candidates’ health care proposals, but if all Americans had access to the same health insurance plans that the FEHB program makes available to Federal employees, we’d all be a heck of a lot better off! The first nationalized plan, created by the Clinton Administration (i.e. Hillary) essentially would have done that. Anyway… I digress.
