You know the annoying little acne (Eczema) your baby gets when he/she is first born. This normally happens within the first six months and goes away with time. Scientists and doctors have now announced if a baby is introduced to fish after birth they will more than likely reduce their chances of getting Eczema. It should be introduced before 9 months for this to work, but you must be very careful on how you introduce any new food to a baby, especially fish and other products like this. Give him or her a little at a time at first just to make sure there is no allergic reaction.

I’m confused, I thought that babies shouldn’t be eating much of anything before 9 months. Now they’re supposed to be eating fish? What next, sushi?
Sky- I’m glad you asked, honestly I’ve never given my babies fish until they were older. I know that you aren’t suppose to eat fish/seafood while pregnant. Personally I thought it was carried on until toddler stage. But thought some would like to hear about this new discovery.
It’s okay to eat fish and seafood while pregnant. They provide important omega-3 fatty acids that help baby’s development. You just should avoid predator fish, which could have high mercury content. I haven’t ever read anything about not consuming fish at while pregnant. Even other allergen type foods are okay in moderation.
That said, I don’t how comfortable I’d feel giving my child under one fish.
