How Old Were You?

How old were you when your first child was born? I know this will prove to be a lengthy discussion as everyone will vary in age and wisdom.
For myself I was 19-years-old when my son came into the world. That was 11 years ago and it still seems like only yesterday I was being rushed into the hospital not fully believing I was in labor. Things are much different since I gave birth and I feel I’ve grown up a lot more.
But being a young mom, as many called me back then wasn’t always easy. I remember standing in line at a dry cleaners to be ridiculed in front of everyone about being a baby and having a baby. At the time I never said anything due to fear that my husband would get fired from his job. Today I know better.
So how old were you?
Each hour today, we are blogging for charity. Please consider making a donation to The Children’s Hunger Fund. You will helping to feed a child.

I was two months away from my 31’st birthday when I had my son. I didn’t find out I was pregnant until I was 5 & 1/2 months as I’d had severe health problems and had been in a coma and actually died twice. My son was born at 7 1/2 months and luckily had no health issues.
Being a mum at 30 meant I had many people talk to me about the problems of being an older mum.
Older? I was only 30!
I was 25 when I had my first child–3 weeks ago!
I feel young, but I also feel really good about the timing.
I was 28. I got married at the young age of 19, so I could have a teenager right now. Eeek! We waited because I was in college, then my husband was in college, etc, etc. People actually thought I had infertility problems b/c I had waited 9 years. Nosey people. I’m glad I waited because I feel like I was more mature and patient.
I got married at 18, pregnant on the honeymoon. Let’s just say the saying, first time you do it you get pregnant worked for me.
I was 27… and a half. LOL!
