Training my son was very simple. He started it on his own at 2. Now he is 3 and needs me to wipe his butt, I need a way to teach him to do it himself. Also h pees when he sleeps so I got to go the salvation army for pullups once a month cause I can not afford them, so I wish he had better controll when sleeping, any ideas???

With the first two we tried everything from praise and rewards, to playing music while they were on the potty…having learned from the mistake of running tap water to promote urinating. My mother did that with us and I’m living proof that running tap water when I’m doing the dishes prompts to go to the bathroom. This time out…we will let nature (hers) determine when she is ready. I sometimes think parents are pressured to meet artificial benchmarks set by so-called experts or even other parents…when they should get to know their own children better.

I have an almost 4 year old son who is on the autistic spectrum. He has been extremely difficult to train. Needless to say we go through many pull ups. I have tried sticker books while on the potty which seems to keep his attention span to sit there but, he still isn’t getting it. I really think the DVD will help him since he is so motivated by videos to help him understand. We like the learning designs or cool alert 3T-4T.

We are nonchalantly trying to potty train. A friend told me she just let her daughter go pantless–and she was trained in a few days. I tried that with our almost-two-year-old, but not persistantly. I’ve offered candy as a treat for going, but I think she’s just not ready, so we’re letting up for now…Some pullups would be great though!

I put cheerios in the toilet and tell my son to try and sink them when he goes.

When my son starts potty training i’m going to try to put something in the toilet such as cheerios, and he has to try to aim at them. ( IT sounds gross, but it might work,)

We let them come in when we go to the bathroom just so they get use to the idea, We also let them flush the toilet and say yeah. I would like the boys pullups
