I Know I am a Mother

I work, I write, I am almost always a little distracted. I don’t know what to wear, I am always tired, I always have one day care crisis or another. I don’t know how my financial or professional future will look, I don’t really know who I am or what I am doing.

I am, however, certain that every moment that I breathe, I am a mother. It shapes how I feel, how I see the world, everything that I do and all my hopes.

A friend of mine once said, “Just love deeply, everything else will take care of itself.”

Today, I can let everything else take care of itself.
