I Want to Dye Happily

I stopped colouring my hair while I was pregnant and now, almost 12 weeks after delivery, I am shocked at how grey I have become. Taking advantage of the free baby-sitting my family will provide tomorrow afternoon, I made an appointment for my first post partum cut and colour.

While I was there, the colourist came out to look over what I’ve got and told me I am going to have to change shades. “I don’t think I can get you full coverage on a strawberry blonde,” she said. “It’s only been 11 weeks and the hormones can stay in your system for up to two years and make the hair more resistant to the dye.”

This, I thought, is something I have to research, but my family –I am sad to say– still has dial up access! So, I will talk to the colourist some more about hormonal hair changes after giving birth and report what she says here. Until then, I think I’ll search the archives of ebeauty daily, another B5 media blog, and see if Christina has ever written on this topic.
