Remember last year when I wrote abotu a Florida woman going in and kidnapping a baby boy from the hospital? She was caught, the baby delivered to his parents and she was arrested. Jennifer Latham, age 40, the kidnapper pleaded guilty Feb 10th and will now be facing the decision of the court. How long will she go to prison?
She could actually face a 30 year prison sentence, some say this is too harsh. What do you think? Read the quote below from the Orlando Sentinel:
She had first lost custody to her ex-husband in 2003, Myers said, and that left an enormous hole in her life.
The day of the abduction, Latham had been watching her sister’s children, went home and showered, felt empty, then walked into the maternity ward of Central Florida Regional Hospital, where she had years earlier given birth.
She changed into nurses’ clothes, lifted a baby from his mother’s arms then a few minutes later walked out with the child hidden in a bag.
A hallway security camera snapped photos of her leaving, the bag tucked under her arm.
I don’t know about you but I’d feel much better knowing she was behind bars for a long while.
