Okay, now I’ve heard of some strange names for babies and even strange stories on how a person picked their child’s name. But this man decided to take a bet. He called in for a prize at the local radio station who would give someone a $100 Gas Card to whoever had the strangest deal. This man is naming his unborn son after the radio station. The boys name will be…. Dixon and Willoughby Partin. Yes the ‘and’ is part of his name. Ikk. I could understand calling in and saying, “I’ll name my kid after you.” But the word and, that poor child will be teased for the rest of his life.
David, the father of the unborn baby, made the agreement and Dixon and Willoughby plan on being their when the baby is born. David doesn’t get the card until the name is on the birth certificate. Eeek.
Do you know of any strange baby names or how one came up with it? For instance for my family, we decided to name any boys we had after their uncles, but would add an Italian first name. This worked for us and had a special meaning, they will always know they were named after someone and they have an Italian background. The girls were deeper meanings for me, my first daughter’s name means Pure Hope. We searched for their names until we liked the meanings.
How did you pick your child’s name?

Dixon Willoughby Partin Actually doesnt sound bad but the “AND” Needs dropped it is better than other names I have heard of before.
He can always change it later. Hopefully they will just call him Dixon Partin. Dixon is pretty cool. It’s just the idea that they’d take part in the radio deal in the first place. Oh well, gas is pretty darn $$ right now.
I’m very glad that the radio guys didn’t pick something really disgusting.
I hope this baby will change his name in the future.
LParker- Oh I love the name Dixon but “And” has to go. I know I was always made fun of for “Anne” my father and others would always say “and what” so I could only imagine actually having the name.
Michelle- Very true but while he is young would be he hard part. and what if they want that as a first name? Eeek. yes I agree, he can change it, but when he is much older.
I was kind of hoping it would just be “I’ll name my child after you” type of bet.
Baby boy- Oh I do too.
What a stupid name to call your child!! I hope the mum has some sense and puts her foot down. We searched for a long time on the internet and through books when my wife was pregnant to choose a name for our daughters. The poor child is almost certainly going to get teased over the name.
