Mom Gives Birth & Hides Baby

A Lacey woman gave birth this past week and hid her baby, police are still unsure why she would hide the baby. Maybe she didn’t want to be pregnant, let her husband know or a number of other reasons. But should that have made her want to hide her baby?

Jessica Wemhaner is being held on a bail bond of $250,000 and facing manslaughter charges after the discovery of her newborn baby girl being found wrapped in a towel under her bathroom sink. Apparently she gave birth at home, sitting in the bathroom. Once the baby was born she wrapped her in a towel and placed her under it, she went to the hospital because she was bleeding and a doctor learned she’d just given birth. He alerted police telling them there was possibly a child in the couple’s home.

Her husband had no clue of a pregnancy, police were called at 5 but weren’t able to get into the home until they got a warrant, which was around 9 p.m. The little baby girl was dead by then. I’m sure we’ll hear more about why this happened in the coming weeks, the baby girl was 7lbs 7oz, by the sounds of it she may have survived had she been properly cared for.
