Last week 2-year-old, Moshe Holtzberg, lost his family in the Mumbai Incident when a gunmen took out his two parents. His parents, Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and Rivka. He would’ve died along with them had it not been for his quick-thinking nanny who grabbed him up and ran right past the killer.
The nanny, Sandra Samuel, had been downstairs when shots began ringing out. But she heard Rivka, Moshe’s mom, calling her for help. She quickly unlocked her door and fled upstairs where she found 2-year-old Moshe crying above his parents’ lifeless bodies. She grabbed him up and fled.
Moshe is currently in the care of his grandparents, Samuel has been given a one year VISA to Israel to help Moshe adjust to his new life.

I nominate Sandra for person of the year award. So inspiring! I’ve never seen anything like her in terms of presence and being in-the-moment. Sandra’s optimism shames me with my petty complaints. Bravo Sandra!
P.S. Found the english undertitles somewhat thoughtless. She speaks good Indian English, my goodness. The undertitles on cnn kind of reminded me of the obnoxious fat weight watching coach in “Little Britain” who insults the Indian woman by not understanding her Indian accent.
