One Postpartum Advantage

I know. I am always writing about the discomforts and conditions women have to address after giving birth. However, one advantage (besides living with the kids) comes with the territory too.

I’ve been nursing almost constantly and haven’t had a period in 10 months. With my first child, this menstrual vacation lasted just seven months so I feel like I’ve been given a biological bonus gift for continuing to nurse at night.

So, do you miss the monthly cycle? I just asked myself.

I gave the matter some thought.

Nope.

But, if you’re wondering, this bloodlessness is not protection against another pregnancy.

Oh man, I loved that no-period period!!! I weaned my 2nd at 7 months, and got pregnant 2 months later (the quickest we’d ever gotten pregnant by far!) So, that was over 2 years with only 2 months of it. Man, was it hard to get used to again!!!!

Adtually Kerri, the fewer periods a woman has, the better for her cancer health.

Not that having a whole football team of kids is healthy!
