Sleeping Schedules and Sick Kids

Sleeping Schedules and Sick Kids

As many of you know the flu or something like it has been going around my house, it is taking turn with each family member with the recent being BalletGirl (age 9) and Little A (age 2). I’ve
noticed that Little A tends to sleep more now, however not all the time, instead he likes to sleep in the day a lot.
Since Little A has something he is very clingy but only when he wants to be, he can get extremely moody too. How many of you have a little one like this? Now think how many of you have an …read more

Bringing Mommy Home from the Hospital

Bringing Mommy Home from the Hospital

Everyone is always talking about the things needed to bring baby home, but never what is needed for mom. Many times people just think mom pops the baby out, stays in the hospital for a few hours to a couple days and then goes back home and jumps right into the mommy role.his is not always the case, in fact sometimes it takes mom a little longer to jump into the role.
What type of delivery did mom have? If mom had a regular birth with no tears it may not be as uncomfortable going home. Mom may want to still …read more

Baby born in Air

Baby born in Air

This past week a baby boy was born in mid-air while his mother was flying SouthWest Airlines. It is being reported that the baby was born a month premature.
Whether he was premature or right on time one thing is for certain and that’s the fact that he was definitely not stopping, even though the plane was headed to Salt Lake City, they had to do a detour to Denver instead.
The Examiner reports:
A passenger who was eight months pregnant was seated in the row in front of Dr. John Saran, an internal medicine specialist working at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. The …read more

Keeping the Baby’s Sex a Secret

Keeping the Baby’s Sex a Secret

This is one of those things every couple must decide on when it comes time to see what sex the baby is.  It is understandable to get the surprise of finding out the sex at the day the baby is born, however some like to know so they can prepare the nursery, clothing, etc.
So is it wrong to keep the sex a secret?
It depends on whom you are keeping the secret from. If a couple is pregnant it should be up to both, if the father wants to know the sex of his baby he should be able to. …read more

Baby Signs Book Review

Baby Signs Book Review

I won a book called, “Baby Signs” by Kyle Olmon and Jacqueline Rogers and wanted to review it. Now I didn’t get it to review but I think it’s a cute pop-up book that may interest some of you parents out there.
The book isn’t that big, but it is a pop-up with 6 full pages. The pictures are very colorful and they pop right up. Little A loves thumbing through the pages and popping up the pages, especially the baby in the bathtub. But I’ve also noticed that he tries doing the signs that are shown right off to the …read more

Decorating the Christmas Tree with Toddlers

Decorating the Christmas Tree with Toddlers

This year we put up our Christmas Tree a tad bit early but only because I knew I’d have to take down the old lights. We got a tree the previous year that had the lights attached, getting them off was no easy task.
Finally, when it was all done I strung up the new lights. A few days later we made Reindeer Candy Canes with the kids and had them hang them on the tree.
Today he found the rest of the candy canes that had not been used in the arts and crafts session. What did he do with it? …read more

Babies in Heels: What’s Your Take on it?

Babies in Heels: What’s Your Take on it?

In the gossip rags this past month has been a lot of talk about how Katie Holmes’ little girl, Suri has been spotted many times wearing high heels. While some will spot her and just think how adorable or grown up she looks, other notice that this is just a little girl that is 3 years old. What do you think? When did you let your baby jump into high heels?
I don’t know about you but my girls have yet to wear high heels and they are 6 and 9. I know as an adult that it is easy to …read more

He thinks He’s His Brother

He thinks He’s His Brother

Have you ever noticed how a baby thinks he/she is the only one you’ve ever had in your life? I’ve noticed that whenever we look at old photo albums of Little A’s big brother, (when Big Bro was a baby) he points at each one and says, “Me.” Even when I correct him he gets very serious and argues it.
This has made me wonder if babies don’t have some type of thing where they think they are the only ones. I mean obviously they learn there are others out there, but NOT others in your home. Any picture of a younger child …read more
