Pain Wimp

Tolerance for pain I mean.
The second baby was born quickly, without any kind of pain medication. It was intense, but I lived. And as much as I would like to claim I am an amazon warrior princess, I cannot.
Ever since the birth, I’ve become a real wimp. Ever little ache and pain sends me in search of my Ibuprofin or other kind of pain relief (although I’d never take a tablet containing codeine, like Tylenol 3) whereas before, I never took anything for a headache but a glass of water and a nap.
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like they just don’t have it in them to put up with any more pain, whatever the source?

I wonder how much of that is due to exhaustion. I also know that I’d better put a stop to headaches quick or risk not being able to competently care for someone.
Hope you’re not in any pain right now!
No, but my hip ligaments still aren’t quite right. The doctor says its nursing hormones and it will probably stop when the baby starts eating more and I produce less milk. With B, that took 18 months. Luckily MC is more interested in that stuff we put in our mouths…
This probably won’t help you now, but would you believe that you get tougher as time goes on?? A week ago, I tripped over speaker wires under my desk, hit a chair clear across the room and gave myself a bruised cheekbone, a black eye and more bruises than I thought possible. And me… the biggest baby in the family grabbed some ice and took care of the rapidly swelling cheek before anyone even knew what had happened.
I agree with Hsien… it could be that you feel the pain more intensely because you are exhausted??
Exhaustion is always a possibility.
I hope I get tougher again, just like you SP:
hmmm – I don’t feel too much pain if I take my usual 6-800 mg of motrin twice a day! It seems to be my back these days and I haven’t figured out how to get a proper work out in with this little guy yet. That also helps me with aches and pains.
Maybe I hould just take a regular dose twice a day too…
