Predictions for Kate in 2008

My prize for winning week 5 of Project Blog was a mini-reading from Beth at Astrology Explored. (By the way, the week six winner hasn’t been announced yet, but my fingers are actually crossed for Sally’s entry). There have been times in my life when I read my horoscope every day to see when/if I’d meet a tall, dark and handsome stranger. Then, one day it happened (I am not sure what my horoscope said that day, but not “you will have dinner with the man you are going to marry“) and I stopped reading.

Going through my email reading from Beth, I am wondering why. Horoscopes are fun, people have been using them for about four thousand years, and, if I am trying to carve out more time for myself, shouldn’t I be having more fun?

Do you read your horoscope or is it one of those “free time” habits that you lost when you got married and/or had children?

  1. Tracee Sioux says:

I used to read it, when I was single.

But, I don’t anymore. I find exercise and time for myself and organization and attitude to be better predictors of what will happen to me during my day or month.

    That’s very sensible Tracee.

  3. Beth Turnage says:

I read every horoscope I can get my hands on. I love to see what other astrologers have to say. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I scratch my head, and sometimes I nod my head in agreement, but I like the ones I write the best.

Remember though, that newspaper horoscopes are a very, very small piece of the astrological pie. They are meant to amuse, not to guide, and perhaps provide an impetus for people to seek out a full reading with an astrologer when they need it.

Beth- I liked your mini reading immensely!
