Resolutions and The Egg Timer

Hi! My name is Kate and I am a blog-o-holic. It started out innocently enough. I was combing newspapers, linking back to studies about birth, postpartum recovery and reproductive health. I wanted to help women who might be isolated and worried and prone to postpartum depression.
Then, I started getting comments, I started participating in contests, I started making more friends and I started spending more and more time on the blog. Sure, to justify it I could always say that I was “working” as a pro-blogger. Let’s just say the income doesn’t justify that designation. Especially since I just gave a lot of it away.
Nope, what is actually a hobby has become a great big time suck and I need to get it under control.
So, that means I am going to have to set the egg timer every time I sit down and stop when it goes off. I know it isn’t going to be easy, but it is in my entire family’s best interests.

ha! I need to do the same thing! I just sit down for one second and then (poof!) –hours have gone by!
I used the egg timer today to pre-write a number of posts and was amazed at how quickly an hour went by.
Hey Kate, I would love if you could mention my new blog I just started for women suffering with PPD. I am really trying to reach out to women to tell their stories on the blog. My apologies for writing to you in your comments section but I couldn’t find an email for you. Thanks
Sure, just return the favor.
Good luck, Kate. I have a similar problem. Karen is even worse
For instance, I am supposed to be cleaning right now but you see what I am doing.
Yup, I’m supposed to be out getting groceries right now while Bodhi naps with his daddy. Oops!
Kristine & Kelly- I really have to vacuum.
Egg timer. Cool idea. I wish I could be quick but I sit and muse and rewrite and rewrite. I don’t think I’ll ever be that efficient.
