Results of the Mothers Day Charity Campaign

It’s been a long time coming. March 18th was Mothering Sunday in the UK. Yesterday was Mothers Day in the US and Canada. The second February in Sunday, my friend tells me, was Mothers Day in Norway. I guess my attempt to be international about the Mothering Sunday to Mothers Day Charity Campaign weren’t terribly inclusive.

Through the poll, readers chose to support RAWA with a donation totaling $1 for every 1000 page views served up during the campaign.

(total results as of Midnight, May 14)

Page views during the campaign totaled just under 59,000 and I decided to round up the donation a little. The easiest way for me to donate to RAWA was to buy them goods from their Amazon Wish List. So, the images below represent what they’re getting from all of us as a belated Mothers Day gift.

It is my hope that this small donation made on behalf of Babylune readers will help RAWA make life better for all mothers and daughters in Afghanistan.

EDIT NOTE: Not surprisingly, Amazon doesn’t deliver to RAWA in Pakistan. I had the wish list items shiped to Friends of RAWA in Santa Barbara. If you’d like to donate something from the unused portion of an Amazon Gift Certificate, here is the address you should ship to:

Wow! Now we need to see if we can do a b5media-wide charity effort! I wonder what we could drum up with that kind of coverage!

You’re wonderful for doing all of this.

And FYI, you and I have sponsored children at my son’s school to go to the petting zoo, Hershey Park, and now the circus, among other things. Thank you!

That’s great news Christina, thank you.

To be honest, I’m not sure a B5 Media-wide charity campaign would work. Outside our channel, this effort got almost no support from B5.
