Second Baby Dies in Corpus Christi Hospital Overdosing

I bring more sad news today as another infant has passed on due to the “accidental” overdosing of heparin the hospital, Corpus Christi Hospital, discovered just last week. A little too late for some. Out of the 17 babies that were overdosed two now have died. On Thursday they said 14 babies were given the concentrated heparin (blood thinner) but three were not mentioned of the 17. I do hope that third one is doing okay, as we know the other two have now died.
The baby this week was a little girl, twin to her brother who died last week. The Garcia family will definitely be in mourning. My heart goes out to them.

That is so sad. I thought they recalled Heparin to repackage it? There has to be a way to make these oversights happen less frequently.
I thought they did too, apparently not everyone did. They are saying pharmacy mix-up. But like you I’m saying Dennis Quiad made everyone realize this issue and there was a recall and an order for everyone to look through it.
