Sick Baby Abandoned in Car

A very sick baby was left alone, abandoned in a car, normally this would be horrible but it gets slightly worse. This infant was only 5 months old, he was helpless in the backseat inside a carseat with a pile of dirty laundry covering him. When officers began a search of the car for a drug investigation they noticed the seat in the back, they moved the clothes to discover the motionless infant.

The infant was covered in sores/blisters and looked awful and very hungry/dehydrated. The mother came outside at this point and claimed the vehicle and baby, explaining to the officers he was fine. Course with the looks of the child they did not agree and took him directly to a Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and was treated for malnourish and Dehydration, it was also discovered that the sores were from a disease called epidermolysis bullosa. This is when the skin is so sensitive it’ll blister at the slightest touch.

She, the 19 year old mother, (Sofia Guadalupe Morales) was arrested for child endangerment. They also stated the carseat wasn’t a type that a baby with this disease should be in, it should’ve been softer, instead it was a hard plastic one with no covering.

Morales has a bail of $40,500, she also faces drug charges on top of everything.
