Whether your pregnant with your first child or your last child, coming up with a baby name can sometimes prove to be very difficult. How many of you have given birth and not had a name picked out for your child?

IMG: Sxc.hu

A week ago Gisele Bundchen, the newlywed wife of Tom Brady, gave birth to the couples first child. While Tom may have already had a son and knew what to expect they still weren’t 100% sure of the name, well at least Gisele wasn’t.

Here’s what happened with Tom Brady and Gisele:

“It’s kind of back to the drawing board,” Brady, 32, said in an interview on WEEI Sports Radio. “We thought we had a name picked out for about six months and then about two days before he was born she said, ‘I don’t like that name anymore.’”

According to People magazine, they did have a name picked out but as we all know once that baby is born the name may no longer fit. So lets come up with a few ways to pick out some names, whether names have already been picked and just not decided on or not picked out at all.

Ideas for Baby Names:

- Get a book: grab a baby naming book and thumb through names, you can go with the most popular, least popular or even the one that has a special meaning to you. Some have been known to name their children from the places they are conceived or born at: Dakota, Orlando, etc.

- Let Your child decide: This one only works if you have a child before this current one is born. Ask them their pick on names and hope they pick something that is a real name and not just a sound.

- Let Your Readers pick it: Believe it or not I have seen bloggers ask their readers to name their child and then as the due date gets clotser they begin voting from the top names.

- Family tree: Shake the family tree and see which names fall out. Many times a family member would love to have a child named after them. I know I named my daughter after my grandmother, she was very touched. It is normally the men that get a child named after them, not always the woman.

- Nickname: Pick a name that has a fun nickname, or do just the opposite and pick a name that does NOT have a nickname. My husband hates nicknames and named our children (or so he thought) names that didn’t have nicknames.

Games for the Final Decision:

- Draw names: If both of you are at a stand still you cna toss all the names ya’ll like in a bowl and have mom (or dad) pull a name out for the first name.

- Compromise: You can let mom or dad decide this child’s name as long as the other gets to name the next child. Or you could compromise and let one choose the first name and the other choose the middle name.

Hope these help and hopefully Tom can figure out their baby’s name soon.

online, however this morning it seems to be very popular around the blogosphere. I’m not really sure why the phrase, “Baby Name Wizard” has become so popular but I’m going to include a link to a Baby Name Wizard site that I actually mentioned back in here.

As a baby is being formed and growing inside the mother’s womb there is one fun thing to do while you wait for him/her to finally come out to greet you, that’s pick a name. How have you picked names in the past? How will you pick your baby’s name? Some believe the name is what makes a person, others believe it is something we name our child because we never got to have the name ourselves.

To me picking a name has always seemed like one of the hardest but easiest things to do, all mixed together. I mean here was this child growing inside of you and you have to pick that perfect name that’ll stick with him or her. You know, if you pick some strange name or funny name they will be picked on for the rest of their lives, or at least until they graduate high school. Some folks don’t care about that, they simply state the child will ignore it or it’ll never happen. Course every name can be changed to something smaller, I mean the name, “Elizabeth” is changed to Liz, Eliza, Lizzie, Beth, etc. But I was still always worried about the names.

With each of my children there was some different way we named our children, well not entirely the boys. They boys were actually named the same way, daddy named them and chose Italian first names and then added his brothers’ names. The girls were named by me, I wanted something beautiful but meaningful too. My first daughter, her name means “pure,” but my second daughter is named after me. Now this wasn’t intentional but I loved a name and found out when you looked it up it was translating into “Elizabeth” I had a hard time with this but in the end, she was her name. I’ve never regretted the names I gave my children. With her name I did use a book and I went through and asked the tummy certain ones, it was that name that she kicked and bounced at. How did you choose your names?

Here’s a few Baby Naming Ideas:

- Baby Naming Book: use a baby naming book and go through all those names and look up the definition. Or close your eyes and fall on a page.

- Kids pick the Name: If you already have kids and don’t mind, ask your kids their idea. For a bit more guidance pick a letter you want your child’s name to start with and tell them if you want it to be girlie, cute, pretty, smart or macho. See what names they come up with.

- The Baby Name Wizard, besides this site there are actually many others that’ll name your baby for you.

- Family name: These seem to be popular, find out if there is a junior in the family. Or do what I did and find a female relative that no one has ever named their child after. It really does touch them.

- Trend names: Wait or find one of the Top Baby Name lists for the year and name your child this way.

Now lets head over to Baby Name Wizard for a moment longer and look around. Believe it or not at least one of my boys’ names are not in the Namipedia, which dishes all about the names. Now I could jump in there and create him a page, but I just don’t know enough about his name to actually do that. If your child’s name wasn’t in the Namipedia, did you create him/her a page? What did you think of the site?

I noticed this when it first happened but wasn’t sure why so I didn’t even blog it, but it is now on SuperNannyRules:

Adolf Hitler Campbell and his sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, were taken from their Holland Township, N.J., home on Friday by the state’s Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS), Sgt. John Harris of the Holland Township Police Department told FOXNews.com.

Some believe the name (even if it is to start fear or hatred) is reason enough to take a child away. Others do not, here is what some are stating.

“I doubt that the name alone would be enough to trump the First Amendment interests that the parents have, but if it were coupled with other things, it could be a factor that tells us that society has a legitimate reason to intervene with regard to the children.” – Rod Smolla, Dean of Washington & Lee Law School.

But some people in the town have also spoken up, one being in the police department.

“I’ve dealt with the family for years and as far as the children are concerned, I have never had any reports of any abuse with the children. As far as I know, he’s always been very good with the children.” — Sgt. John Harris

The parents were suppose to go to court this week, however it has now been postponed. No new date has been announced. Here’s my question: If the only reason they took these kids from their parents was over a name are many of us about to face the same thing? I’ve been told that I give my children too many names and that shouldn’t be allowed, do I have to worry about this? No, my kids don’t have names like this but they do have four names each. There are so far no laws stating what you can and cannot name your children, at least not that I know of. What’s your thoughts?

Yep, due to this 3-year-old having a name his parents gave him he will now have issues the rest of his life. At least with this supermarket and making birthday cakes and I’m sure many other places. See the little boy’s name is: Adolph Hitler Campbell.

The store not making this tiny tot a birthday cake happens to be ShopRite. The child’s father, Heath, has already been hitting back in interviews and around the web. He admits the name drives at some but he says we must look forward not back and accept change. He states his son isn’t going to become Hitler and do what he did.

This isn’t their only child and I imagine they will come to similar situations as they grow older: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie. Heath said they named their children names no one else in the world would.

Do you think ShopRite should’ve made the cake?

UPDATE ON CAKE: I just read here, that it seems the name wasn’t the only thing asked for. I can totally get ShopRite denying it now. I mean writing the name is one thing I was shocked about, but when I read they asked the baker to put a swastika in the center. Yeah, okay sorry folks but looks like there was a reason. Just a name wasn’t good enough but seems there was more to it.

Karen Meleta, a spokeswoman for ShopRite, said the Campbells had similar requests denied at the same store the last two years and said Heath Campbell previously had asked for a swastika to be included in the decoration.

I’m sure even Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have already purchased Emme and Max’s domain names. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes purchased little Suri’s sites as quickly as possible.
So, here’s the question, does your child have a domain name? I haven’t purchased my children’s names yet but I do plan on it. But when I do I’ll probably go through godaddy.com since I have bought other domain names through them before.

Here’s a gift idea: Either as a gift to your child or someone else’s find out if they have a domain, if not purchase it for them. I guarantee you’ll be the only one to give them that gift.
