I’ve worried about whether or not one of my little sisters had her baby and how things were going. See, she wasn’t exactly suppose to have this baby. So all week

IMG: Sxc.hu

I’ve worried about whether or not one of my little sisters had her baby and how things were going. See, she wasn’t exactly suppose to have this baby. Her heart went a bit crazy near the end and instead of waiting for the baby to come out naturally they had to go and induce or do a c-section. Either way it was very risky for my little sis and her baby.

This is one of those things that as moms we all fear, but to know someone that is going through this it becomes one of those things you worry about too. You sit and wonder if that phone rings who is it and is it good or bad news. I waited, but unlike many it was a bad month for them and no phone service. Which would mean I had to wait even longer to get back online to find out.

Today my heart jumped into my throat when I read the words your sister. But thankfully it was all good news. My little nephew was born on June 23 and weighed 8lb 9.3oz, which was actually bigger than my biggest at 8lbs 8.3oz. Congratulations to my little sis and welcome to Baby Dylan…you’ve got a very loving mother who has been waiting a very long time for you.

Parents Magazine has come up with 31 Birthday Cake designs that are really cute. I love the little dump trunk and bulldozer they have. The french fry cake slicesook almost real enough to pass to the wee ones. I wonder how that would be at a BBQ birthday party, I may just have to try. I told the kids about this one and they all want me to make it for their birthdays so I guess we’ll see if I do it for a baby party or one of them.

As a mother to four children that I have each breastfed I came to the decision that with my last child I’d wean him before he turned a year old. While I know many believe that you wean a child when they decide, sometimes it is just something a mom must do. My youngest’s first birthday will be on the 14th, which means I have less than two weeks left to wean him. Will it happen? I have no clue, but I’ve been trying.

Before slamming me, my son cut his first tooth at a little less than two months old and has just about a full set of teeth. He loves to try biting me anytime he eats and if he falls asleep while feeding those teeth clamp down on me. Now that you’ve got the idea, I want to be able to do this as soon as possible.

I’ve never had success at weaning my children, at least not without getting mastitus (sp) or getting really sick. Any suggestions? From my understanding they no longer have the pill they did ten years ago with my first child and I know that cold turkey isn’t always the best. So how did you do it? I’d love to read comments as I’m sure there are other moms out there looking for ways to wean their child from the breast to a cup.

The countdown has begun…

(For the next two weeks we’ll be talking about breastfeeding and bottle feeding)
