Kentucky Reader: Can Wife Pump at Work?

A reader wrote in the comments asking other Babylune readers if they knew the Kentucky breastfeeding laws. Apparently his wife has gone back to work but they aren’t very supportive of breastfeeding.
Here’s some quick info I did find on Kentucky and Breastfeeding:
- Forty-three states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands have laws with language specifically allowing women to breastfeed in any public or private location.
- Twenty-eight states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands exempt breastfeeding from public indecency laws
- Twelve states and Puerto Rico exempt breastfeeding mothers from jury duty

- Naomi Watts claims breastfeeding helped her lose weight. “Breastfeeding – that’s how you drop weight. Even though you are just eating all the time, he is eating too”. I totally agree with this, too bad my body didn’t this time around.
- In Sydney, Australia they are pushing to have paid leave for 6 months so breastfeeding moms can feed their babies. There should be word on this soon.
- In Colorado, the breastfeeding bill got some support at capital hill. If this billed is voted yes, more working women will be able to get a few break times …read more
Breastfeeding Laws for Your State

Do you know what the breastfeeding laws are for the state you live in? I moved from state to state while in the military and now that we are out it hadn’t dawned on me to look up the breastfeeding laws in Missouri. Why? I simply got use to breastfeeding my child whenever I needed to do it. I’m not the type of person that shows her boobs in public, however I do feed my child in public.
