IMG: Newscom

c-section had to be done and the baby girl was born 3 months early. With all that being stated the baby is in stable condition and mom is still recovering.

So far it has been kind of hush-hush and we got to hear of the birth and that mom and baby were recovering, however new news has come out. Doctors sound worried that if Michelle Duggar had anymore pregnancies many things could go wrong.

Doc. Harper told ABCNews of the following issues:

- The more children you have, the more likely the placenta will implant in an inopportune place such as over the cervix (placenta previa). “You run the risk of developing problems with the placenta attachment,” Harper said.

- stretches the mother’s pelvic muscles and ligaments, sometimes to the point of causing uncomfortable or embarrassing problems.

- Moms who’ve had multiple pregnancies usually have short labors.

- ”The abdominal wall will lose all tone, causing intestinal hernias as well as putting intestines at risk for volvulus [a bowel twisted in a loop],”

I must agree with the second one, while I’ve only given birth to four I have experienced a quicker birth with each child and I deliver pizzas. (30 minutes or less)

Of course there is always the risk of death or bleeding. Some doctors believe it isn’t how many kids a woman has but the age at which she has them. It is believed that babies will be born with genetic abnormalities such as down syndrome. With all this in mind and the loss of life to a mother of 19 children, do you think she should have more kids?

Do you think she’ll do any operations that would prevent her from getting pregnant in the future? Or will she risk it? Honestly I hope she tries to prevent it, I’d hate to see this kill her or hurt her family.

Ireland has given birth to their first set of sextuplets for the country since 1983. Nuala and Austin Conway gave birth 14 weeks prematurely at the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital in Belfast and have asked for privacy during this time. The preemies, four boys and two girls, are currently in intensive care.
It actually took 30 people to help deliver the six babies via caesarean section. The babies came out weighing between 1lb 7oz- 2lb 2oz, hopefully they each gain the weight needed to go home.
I’ll keep ya posted as news develops.

I’m not sure if it is true or not, honestly I’ve never had to have a c-section so I’ve no clue if it is a good thing or not. But according to the University of Alabama (UAB) women that give birth before 39 weeks via c-section are actually putting their babies at risk.

How? The baby’s lugs and respiratory systems aren’t entirely formed. I’ve heard this before where no baby should be born before 39-40 weeks, otherwise complications are possible. As we know all preemie babies have a risk due to their size but now they are saying those that are being taken out early pose a greater risk.

The 13,258 women studied were those who underwent an elective cesarean of a viable infant at 37 weeks gestation or later in the absence of labour or other obstetric or medical indications for early cesarean delivery (prior to 39 weeks).
The researchers looked at whether an infant who was delivered at 37 weeks later died or was diagnosed with complications.

Of the 13,258 women who had elective repeat cesarean sections, as many as 35.8 percent were delivered before 39 weeks.

The researchers found that babies born at 37 weeks, were two times more likely to suffer with conditions common to babies born too soon, and at 38 weeks, they were one and a half times more likely.

Tita said these findings highlight the importance of not delivering a baby before 39 weeks for the sake of convenience.

I’m not saying this is right or wrong, but I’ll ask you. Did you have a c-section before 39 weeks? How is your baby doing? Did they experience any problems? Lets do our own little research right here.
