Lune is the French word for moon, the satellite that revolves around the earth, exerting its pull upon the tides and, according to the most respectable old wives, upon the female cycle, fertility, conception and birth.

The Summer Souvenir

When it gets hot, my varicose veins give me grief. I really don’t mind this occasionally painful souvenir of pregnancy and childbirth, but I thought it would get better as time went on. I just checked the archives and, yes, last year I had the same problem once the weather warmed up.
At least, I have learned something about self-love. I am thinking Yoga Toes treatment rather than leeches. The toe stretching is supposed to help blood flow and strengthen the veins.

Has anyone tried these or am I better off with the leeches?
