The good news is, we arrived safely. The bad news is that it was one of those flights. I bought tickets from Air Canada because they’d been so helpful and friendly toward us in the past. Unfortunately, the flight turned out to be operated by Lufthansa, Germany’s national carrier and they were horrible. I am not sure what kind of psychotic check-in clerk puts a child and a mother with an infant in the middle of the aisle, but I know it takes a terrible cabin crew to make that mother stare at the back of the only empty seat …read more
Adventures with Baby

My three year-old thinks that boarding an airplane is as easy as getting on a bus.
We’re not jet-set, we’re just a bi-cultural family living in a third country. We live simply (by North American standards) and save money for trips to visit our families. Flying with a baby, and now two children, is something I just do. That said, I’ve gotten a lot of sympathy, and the odd dirty look, from fellow travelers. Still, I would rather have a stressful flight than the stress of loneliness and homesickness I would get if I didn’t take the kids home.
