Newborn Screenings are a Requirement Now

From now on the newborn baby screenings that were optional before, will no longer be that, at least not in the United States. Together all 50 states came to agreement late last year and have now made it mandatory for all babies to be screen. They believe that by screening them before they leave the hospital can help to prevent other things that could be treated right there that would normally be missed if the baby didn’t get a screening.
What will the tests consist of?

Thyroid problems are often undiagnosed or misdiagnosed in women. The symptoms, exhaustion, weight gain/loss, loss of libido, feeling cold or over-heated, and nervous or emotional are dismissed as being related to another big hormonal event like pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or menopause. Events that make women even more vulnerable to thyroid problems.
