Signs of Mastitis

Many breastfeeding moms have no clue when they are ill, with a breast infection, sometimes they’ll even mistake it as something else. Here are a few signs that you may have mastitis.
- Your breastfeed and become ill.
- Your breasts get swelled, or extremely engorged and hot.
- extreme pain while feeding or a burning feeling every time he/she eats.
- a fever, normally over 101
- red patches on your breast
- for a really bad infection your milk may be yellow, like puss.

I thought It Was Breast Cancer

With only weeks before my husband was due to deploy we traveled across country to find a house for our eleven month old and myself. I was a new mom, not sure of everything in the mommy land but I was loving life and even life on the road. (our trip itself was long) We stopped every time our son cried, checking his diaper, loving him and even feeding him. Over Production

Just when I thought I would be able to put this post partum recovery behind me and enjoy showing off my beautiful children, the fact that I have recently given birth came up and bit me.
I woke up this morning with swollen breasts that were as hard as rocks and a headache. I had the same problem with my first child a few days after his birth.
