Momologue vs Mamalogues
While I have never met either of these two bloggers I do know how it feels when someone takes over your domain name. I have had a few sites taken away by others that did something similar in the spelling. However, can this really put an end to having a domain name? Okay, the story goes (from my readings) Mamalogues bought the trademark back in 2004, which should be her name only, no one else should be able to get it. However, it seems that Momologue also began blogging the following year, but didn’t get her trademark. Now three years later the ladies have collided.

How? It seems one of them befriended the other on the popular social site, Twitter.com. This is when Mamalogues told Momologue that she was infringing on the name. She tried several times to get the situation fixed, however Momologue didn’t return emails or twitters. Finally as a last resort, Dana Loesch of Mamalogues, sent a cease and desist letter through her lawyer.

This seems to be when everything hit the fan, this is when Genevieve Hinson, author of Momologue, went to the press. The article claims that Dana is being a cyber-bully towards Genevieve, what do you think? Was Dana only protecting what she already bought and has become her own name? Or did Dana go out and purposely hurt Genevieve feelings when she was being ignored?

ABC wrote:

Hinson said she received two messages via the social networking site, Twitter.com that Loesch claimed to have sent her. Hinson said she added Mamalogues as a Twitter friend, which she said is what likely made Loesch aware of Hinson’s site. Hinson said Loesch likely wasn’t using the site Twitter.com correctly to receive messages back because of how the site is set up regarding site ‘followers’. Hinson said without clicking on the ‘follow’ button on her Twitter profile, the messages likely didn’t get through.

No emails were received from Loesch, Hinson claimed, just the cease-and-desist letter.

Which side are you on? Mamalogues has come forward to set things straight and I’m sorry but I can’t seem to find a post by Momologue about this, however I will leave you with the link to the story written by ABC. (scroll up) Oh and of course this part is only one-sided as they never did contact Dana.

To leave you with a last thought: what should the outcome be? Should Dana be called a bully when she’s protecting her own and should Genevieve lose her site she’s had for three years and considers her home? That’s a tough one, but that’s the blogging business.
