How many of you are happy it is the weekend? Oh, I totally hear that, no more waking the husband at 5 in the morning knowing he won’t actually get out of bed until 8 am. What’s the point in me

waking up that early? Thank goodness I can sleep in until 6 a.m., yeah there isn’t a break when you are a mom. The kids here wake before sunrise and that means someone must get up with them. So since it is Friday we are going to have Open Chat, feel free to post about anything bugging you, what you are doing, etc.

Here are a few ideas:

- Will you go watch Harry Potter? Or have you and your thoughts?
- Are you potty training? Talk about experiences/ideas/etc
- Weaning or taking the bottle from your baby? Chat about it here.

We’ve got Little A, aka the daredevil weaned (ya know off the boob) and now to potty train fully. This week I found him placing his teddy bear on the potty. What were some things your baby did?

Momma’s Coffee Chat Friday

It’s Friday again and this will be open all weekend long. So, what is it you want to talk about this weekend? How about your opinion on this “Pig Flu” errrr wait a minute I think it is now called H1N1? My kids of course thought it was Heinie (the butt) hehe.

This week I learned that the baby of the family, now 2, thinks he is invisible if he closes his eyes. I was scolding him, aka talking stern, and he closed his eyes as if he couldn’t see me so I couldn’t see him. I realized what he was doing and tried hard not to laugh.

He’s also afraid of storms and this week we’ve had a lot of them. I believe this fear comes from when we first moved out here (last year) and the sirens would go off and we’d all rush downstairs. Now he hears the clap of thunder and immediately runs to me saying, “Cared.” Meaning scared. Poor baby. Yesterday as we were driving around with lightening and thunder going off everywhere, I turned to check on the kids and saw he had covered himself with his jacket in his carseat. I asked if he was okay and he peeked over one part of the jacket saying, “Cared, momma.”

With the holidays past, at least the ones for the kids we are now approaching Mother’s Day. For all you moms out there what is it you’d really like this Mother’s Day?

Or something simpler? Why not comment on this post to help all those others out there that don’t have a clue what to get Mom/wife. For all you men out there, what have you got HER in the past. Or what did you get your mom growing up?

Momma’s Coffee Break: Weekend Plans

It’s TGIF Time and what do you have planned for this wonderful weekend? For me, there isn’t an entire list of activities. Tonight, I’ll take the four kids to see Disney On Ice and travel into the city. This is not a usual event for myself as the city makes me very nervous but it sounds like a ton of fun. As ya’ll know this is not a chat all about babies, it can be anything and everything.

Have you seen any good movies lately? I rented from the Redbox: Marley & Me, which I loved but it is a sad movie too. Columbus but I don’t highly recommend that one, I had to figure out what the heck was going on. We also rented Spectacular (hope that’s how it was spelled), the kids really loved this one and it seems to be one of those “in” movies at the moment due to Jonas brothers, Selena Gomez and Hannah Montana. The final two movies were Only You and Seven Pounds and I recommend them both. Seven Pounds may be a bit confusing in the beginning but you’ll love it, at least I did.

As for any other activities if the weather permits we will have a picnic at the park and of course on Sunday we are doing our weekly trip to CVS. Yes, I know we are boring but I love it. What is on your agenda? Any movies you like?

It’s Friday again, that means it’s time for our Momma’s Coffee Break. What’s Momma’s Coffee Break? It’s simple, you come here on Friday to chat about just about anything and everything under the sun. Does it have to be about your baby? No it doesn’t, in fact you can chat about a movie you want to see. Or maybe how disgusted you are that last week you had the perfect kite flying weather and today you look outside to see ice. Not to mention you find out its suppose to SNOW this weekend. Go figure right?

Or you could talk about how old I’m getting. What? Yes, my oldest will turn 12 this weekend and I still recall the day he was brought home…not to mention the night he came into this world. He was one of those stories about the women you just don’t believe. You know the ones that say they almost didn’t know their first child was coming, yep that was me. I mistook him for a bowel movement. Shhh, he didn’t hear that and I didn’t just write it.

As you can see, just about anything goes. This past week I spoke about the following:

- Octomom and how she fired her Angels
- Alfie, the 13 year old, who’s NOT the daddy.
- The man pregnant with Twins.

It’s FRIDAY! How many of you have big plans for the weekend? This weekend it is suppose to rain but it has been so nice out that we are going to have a BBQ. This is one of my favorite things about spring and right before spring, you know all the colors and smells. Breathe in and just imagine. But spring is also a sign of new life, course that brings me to thinking about little babies being born, their first steps, etc. What do you think about when you think of spring?

As ya’ll know this is a casual topic so you can chat about anything baby or your daily life. For me it has been a bit of a difficult week, as I’m going on with college my oldest baby is preparing his fall schedule for middle school. You know where they pick their electives and stuff. Course I can’t help but think about this little guy as a baby and how fast he’s growing up. Know what I mean? Anyways, as I said this is an open chat. Have fun with it.

It’s Friday again and what an amazing week we had here. For my little family it was more low-key then anything but last weekend was great. As some of you read, Little A got his first hair cut. Talk about a change.

Wow what a busy week that we just got through, first there was Valentine’s Day last weekend, then President’s day and finally a break. But soon we’ll have new holidays before us, St.Patty’s Day and of course Easter.

So hopefully this should stir up some memories or crafty ideas for you with your babies. How do you get your baby involved in the holiday traditions? Do you begin early or wait until they are old enough to understand?

When my now 11-year-old was born it was the same weekend as Easter, so we kind of skipped that. However every year after we celebrated every holiday, even some that aren’t officially celebrated.

TGIF, right? Well it certainly is here. The hubby hasn’t been wanting to wake up early like he normally does, so the kids almost missed the bus. I hadn’t even realized I do my mornings by his departure. Does anyone else do this?

Today for an after lunch snack I actually gave Little A an Oreo Cookie and milk. Umm, he discovered its good but he can make a rather BIGGER mess than normal. I so wish I had my camera to show you, I’ll try using my phone.

Just to show you this i a random post, anyone watch the debate? If not there are clips on youtube, I’ve been going through when I can. So start chatting about your week!

Momma’s Coffee Break is back and I want to know what bugs you this week? The good and the bad. I swear I’ve got both going on right now. For instance I’ve been working all week on a local library computer, I see so much sitting in the center of this room. Beside me yesterday was a pre-teen trying to take a test online, his mother sat beside him telling him to delete certain things as his answers were wrong. When he asked her to stop she said, “Do you want to fail or pass?” Is this what the world has come to? This is just sickening.

The good: I’ve read a ton of books and watched a few movies in my time away from my beloved internet. Another good thing, I should be back online around the first of October. Keep those fingers crossed….otherwise I may go insane.

Last night’s movie was Rin Tin Tin, yes I enjoyed it. I watched Bait Shop too but wasn’t as impressed as I thought I’d be. What have you seen lately?
