I know we’ve bribed with hot wheel cars and for the girls once they were completely done it was a Barbie Doll. What did your child get as a potty training reward?

MommyMaria is talking about the word’s little people say, I must admit they can crack me up. Does your little person have any favorite words that only you understand? What are some? Don’t forget to let Maria know. Here’s a few mine likes to say: wawa= water, vegtals=veggietales, yoyobaby= yobaby yogurt, dooce=juice and my favorite peas with one hand curled under his chin= please.

The Mommy Blog is asking “Who do you think should Raise Michael Jackson’s Kids?” I’m all for his mom doing it, would hate to see them go through anything else. Course now that pictures of the children’s childhood photos are now appearing on OK Magazine I must wonder who will honor Michael’s wishes in not having the pictures everywhere.

Over at 5 Minutes for Mom, Susan admits to running a red light when her young one became ill and she had to get to the hospital. Isn’t it amazing the things you’ll do to protect your child? Yes, it is very distracting having them crying beside you in the car and not knowing what is going on. I remember the time my youngest quit breathing and my husband flew down the road and ran a red light to get him into ER. By the time he reached it he was fine, no one ended up knowing what caused it but it just shows there is nothing that will tear you away from your child when they are helpless.

Finally the Blonde Mom Blog believes the Ice Cream Man is the 5th Apocolypse and I must say I totally agree. I mean how often are you just about to eat dinner and suddenly you hear the sound of that crazy, chocolate filled truck? Or you just arrive home, thinking you can duck safely inside and realize he must have a tracker on you and pulls down the road as you open the car door? Let her know how you feel.

Have you read any funny mommy related stories lately?

There were four complete days in the Mistakes Made and Lessons Learned Group Writing Project. The participating blogs wrote posts that were contradictory, funny, sad, frightening, frustrated and altogether wonderful I know that other GWPs have had more entries, but I would argue that they have never had such high literary quality. I am proud to have attracted each of these writers to this contest with a prize worth just $24.95.
Here is the complete list of entries and the announcement of the winner:

Mama Zen was the first to come in with a post in entitled Mistakes…I’ve Made a Few about making “mistakes” that had great benefits for her child. A heart-warming piece that reinforces the idea that mothers are always right.

Jenny was in second with Mistakes by Mom about teaching her son to love his neighbor. Warning: If you meet Mini Buff, don’t touch his cars.

So Sioux Me sent this post about setting a good example for her daughters and how they treat themselves.

My post is up for inspiration purposes.

The Mad Cropper is in via a scrapbook page that says something all of us need to hear every once in a while. I’ve been there too Christine. More often than I care to admit.

Hamelife submits this personal regret over the six months they lost to the dictates of parenting convention.

Jeanie in Paradise describes how she became a dictator. Warning: Jeanie’s very scary description of the banshee wail hits the memory centers hard!

The Doc is In! And boy, are the F-bombs flying. So is the parental pride. I understand you, Doc, your shame, your pride, and your f****** temper.

Husbandhood has both been in the eye of the storm of a temper tantrum and found the perfect solution for preventing tantrums.

This post came from the male half of Marriage Actually about recognizing the individuality of his three children. You may want to strap on an adult diaper before you read it.

A Mama’s Rant came in with her post about almost sending her son into the care of a suspected child abuser.

The Weary Parent went beyond the call of duty and wrote about one mistake she’s made with each child.

Free From Gluten committed a cereal crime.

My Name is Mommy made it in with this list of things you should do differently than she did.

I am now putting slips of paper on which the numbers 1 to 3 and 5 to 14 (eliminating number 4, my own post) have been written into my daughter’s pink sun hat.

I am now going into the other room to explain to the baby that she should take just one slip of paper out of the hat.

I am back from the living room.

It didn’t work the way I expected, but it worked. She bunched up about 3 slips in her little fist, took them out of the hat and then took one from her fist with her other hand. She then handed me the number 12.

Congratulations to Weary Parent! Please send me a message to let me know if you would like a $24.95 Amazon Gift Certificate or $24.95 in cash via Pay Pal.
