Mothers’ Day: It’s Not All About Altruism

I may have given you the wrong impression about me. Sure, I am trying to give money to a good cause for Mothers’ Day, but I am not all about altruism. Considering that my birthday is in about two weeks and Mothers’ Day is in three, I thought I had better update my Amazon Wish List. I think a little indulgence is good for all women’s health.

I’ve been a bit slack about my own Mothers’ Day shopping. My mother has an active social conscience and enough posessions to fill her house. So, based on the Save the Children report on the state of the world’s mothers, I’ve decided to give her social conscience a gift (you’d think her conscience would get full too, but no, like her capacity for love, it keeps getting bigger and bigger).
