I am not completely obsessed with the Generous December Group Writing Project. Just because I check the comments fields of the main post, part one and part two about twenty times a day to see if there are enough entries to write part three yet, does not mean I am completely obsessed. I have other things to think about. There&#8217;s also Project Blog, a bunch of contests, my writing career, my day job and, mostly, the kids to think about.

<p>I am not completely obsessed with <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/the-generous-december-group-writing-project/">the Generous December Group Writing Project</a>. Just because I check the comments fields of <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/the-generous-december-group-writing-project/">the main post</a>, <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/part-one-generous-december-group-writing-project/">part one</a> and <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/part-two-generous-december-group-writing-project/">part two</a> about twenty times a day to see if there are enough entries to write part three yet, does not mean I am completely obsessed. I have other things to think about. There&#8217;s also <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/fifty-words-on-babylune-for-project-blog/">Project Blog</a>, a bunch of <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/a-little-distraction-action/">contests</a>, my<a href="http://www.katebaggott.com"> writing</a> career, my day job and, mostly, <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/its-misbehavioural-art/">the kids</a> to think about.</p>
<p>Plus, <a href="http://scribbit.blogspot.com">Scribbit </a>is hosting a <a href="http://scribbit.blogspot.com/2007/12/decembers-write-away-contest.html">Group Writing Project</a> too. Her assignment is to write on the topic &#8220;my favorite day.&#8221;</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the kind of assignment that, like <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/the-generous-december-group-writing-project/">the Generous December Group Writing Project</a>, is profoundly positive. It also reminds me <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/whine-whine-whine/">how much</a> time I waste <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/parenting-advice-to-be-used-in-case-of-a-whining-emergency/">whining</a> and <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/a-little-whining-and-wingeing/">complaining</a> when things are, in fact, <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/parenthood-can-be-dangerous/">mostly</a> just fine. <span id="more-995"></span></p>
<p>In fact, I have more than one favorite day. In fact today was one of my favorites.</p>
<p>My favorite days are the ones when everything just works. We wake up on time, everyone is healthy, everything I need to pack up for the day is available or pre-packed, the car is not covered in frost, traffic flows, <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/covert-motherhood-activism/">the day care is open</a>, the lovely staff are on-time and in good moods, my daughter kisses me good-bye and starts playing with her friends, and I go to work and see a light go on in a student&#8217;s eyes and know that I have managed to communicate something and helped them learn.</p>
<p>Really learn.</p>
<p>Then, I pick up my girl who says good-bye to her friends without a fuss.</p>
<p>Traffic flows.</p>
<p>I pick up my boy.</p>
<p>Together, we finish our errands, spend some time together and <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/an-open-letter-to-my-neighborhood/">no one even thinks of crying </a>or being unreasonable. And then, we have dinner, some silly time and bath and <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/our-little-literary-awakening/">stories</a> and kisses goodnight and bed. At the end of the day, on my favorite days, we are all tired, but happy because <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/babylune/an-ode-to-doing-nothing/">we pulled it off.</a> It actually worked. The whole day worked for all of us.</p>
