women bought the kit and early in their pregnancy and relied solely on it. Which basically means they found out they were either having a boy or a girl and went all out on clothes and the baby room. But when they found out at their check up by the actual doctor they were pregnant with the opposite sex they were left a bit sad and upset. The kits actually cost $275, so I can see a bit why they were upset.

With all that being stated, I’d hate to think of someone getting sued because of an old wives’ tale. I remember if you hold a ring above your pregnant belly and it spins one way you’ll have one sex and if it goes sideways another. Or the one where you look at the last child you have and check the hairline to determine.

One of the women said the kit caused her to split up with her husband because they thought it was a boy and later found out it was a girl. Sounds like someone just wasn’t willing to be a daddy of a girl again. I have one word for people like that but won’t go there. Hopefully these women don’t go through too much and have a happy pregnancy and healthy babies.

I’m sorry but due to all the news on abandoned and found newborn babies I thought this was a topic that needed to be spoke of once again. Many states in the US have a Safe Haven Laws, please check to see if your state does if you do not want or cannot have your newborn baby. It is not safe to leave them abandoned on the side of the road, in a trash bag or anywhere else where it may not be seen. Don’t just knock on someone’s door and leave the baby on a porch. Remember some people will take a step to check, they do not want to feel a baby under their foot or a scream.

Here are safe haven laws for the states recently in the news:

Ohio (baby found in grassy area)

A newborn can be left anonymously at a police station, fire station or hospital up to 30 days after birth. (without prosecution) Make sure to leave the baby with an actual person, not just at the door.

Florida (baby girl in box)

A newborn up to 3 days old or younger may be left at a hospital, fire station or emt station.

Illinois

A newborn baby 72 hours or younger may be left by a parent at a hospital, EMT or fire station.

Missouri

A newborn up to 30 days old or younger may be left by a biological parent or a person acting on behalf of the parent with a staff member of a hospital, EMT or firefighter.

A newborn baby boy, only a few hours old, was found in a grassy area in Lewis Center, Ohio this past Tuesday. The tiny infant was found right off the

Here’s what the caller said to the police:

“I just found a newborn baby on the side, like in the grass, when I was driving to work and I don’t know what to do,” the woman told the 911 dispatcher.

“Can you tell approximately how old the child is?” the dispatcher asked.

“I have no idea. Small, not scary small, but new,” the woman said.

Investigators said they believed the infant was no more than a few hours old, 10TV’s Glenn McEntyre reported.

“The baby had no clothing, wasn’t wrapped in anything and still had the umbilical cord attached,” said Delaware County Sheriff Walter Davis.

Paramedics speculated that the infant may not have survived lying there for another hour, Kocot reported.

The child was found just 100 yards from a day care center.

Currently they have no clue who the mother or father is of this child, any tips would be helpful. The baby boy is expected to make a full recovery, even though it was dropped off during one of the hottest points of the day.

I was shocked when this piece of news came across my email. But Memphis police are searching for a woman that used a baby to get away from security guards. Talk about someone being a coward. This woman was inside Wal-Mart when she was caught shoplifting. She grabbed her 2-month old nephew and tossed him at a guard coming at her and got away.

The poor baby was actually in its carrier (carseat) when he was tossed, fell onto the concrete and she grabbed the carrier and took off. Once again tossing him at a good samaritan that was trying to help the baby. She did get away in a blue Ford Escort leaving her sister (or sister-in-law) in the bathroom and her nephew on the ground. What an aunt. (people should treat her the way she just did that baby)ERRR. 

All news states the baby is fine, but if you listen to the news channel the baby was knocked unconscious when he landed on the concrete. But they did take him to the hospital and he is expected to do fine. This lady needs some serious help, course I’m wondering if she’ll ever go near her sister now.

A newborn girl was born earlier this week, normally I’d be congratulating the happy couple but this time it’s a 15-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy. Umm, exactly when do you say enough is enough. The story itself is bigger than that though, try to follow along.  The newborn baby has been named Maisie Steadman.

The UK has published a story about a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year girl being allowed to sleep in the same bed together. Now the girl has given birth and they BELIEVE he is the dad. When I say believed that actually means there are several others claiming to be the father of the newborn girl as well. It’s funny in a way, isn’t it normally the other way around? The boy/guy always claiming NOT to be the father. Now here you have two other guys that Chantelle Steadman, the new mom, (age 15) may have been with.

Here are the possible fathers:

Alfie Patten, age 13, the one that is BELIEVED to be the dad.
Tyler Barker, age 14, he claims to have slept in her bed 9 months ago and is now worried.
Richard Goodsell, age 16

According to Chantelle though, it was only Alfie and everyone else is making false claims. Alfie’s mom, Nicola Patten wants a paternity test to get it all over and done with. Alfie is also claiming that he will support his child and her mom. I must ask, exactly how will he provide for them? He hasn’t finished school, no job, etc. Okay, I guess what he really means is that HIS PARENTS will be providing for his child and his child’s mother.

Many will argue these two were of consenting age, this is not the case though in Britain. You must be at LEAST 16 years old, both were underage.

What’s your take on it?  Should we just be okay and congratulate them or should we be doing something more to prevent this type of thing from happening? If so, what? Looking forward to the comments on this one.

The Elbert County deputies have saved a newborn’s life according to mother, Lea Stringer. Lea had given birth on her living room floor, her husband, Ken, quickly called 9-1-1 when she went into labor. When deputies got to the house the newborn baby girl was already turning blue and suffocating. Thankfully the two deputies knew what to do and began working on little Serenity and saved her life.

Apparently her airway was clogged, but they began CPR until the paramedics got there. Serenity Rayne Stringer is still alive today because these two deputies knew what to do in the situation and didn’t freak out.

As shocking as this sounds it is even more shocking when I read into more detail about this. It seems a 14-year-old girl gave birth sometime Wednesday afternoon at Osborn Middle School and decided to immediately toss the baby in the trash.

It was the principal that would discover the baby as she began hearing a distinct and not very common noise on the school grounds. When she went to investigate she was horrified to find a newborn baby boy in the trash. Immediately they called (principal and vice) 9-1-1 and at that point began wondering where the mom could be. The baby appeared to be full term and besides being in the trash he was happy and healthy. The janitor told them he had found blood drops in the nurses office…maybe she’d attempted to get help but no one was in there at the time.

If any of you were watching the news on Friday you may have heard of the woman that went into a hospital, newborn baby unit, posed as a nurse and kidnapped a newborn. Yes, she was caught but it was several hours later. Well the judge is actually releasing her until her trial, without bail. Eeek. Is it just me or would you wonder about this woman? I’d like to know a newborn baby kidnapper wasn’t on the streets. But to let her out only days after doing it???

According to the news she does have to wear an ankle bracelet but that’s it. This lady put those parents through heck and she gets jewelry? I understand she may be sick but I think there should’ve been a different punishment. What’s your thoughts?

ABC News is looking for men that had postpartum depression after their baby was born. Some of you may not know it but it does happen in men as well as it does with women. All those thoughts that go through a female, can actually go through a man.

 Men wonder why they aren’t happy about the birth of their new son/daughter. This is easy for a man, especially with many of them holding that “macho” gene of how will I care for him/her? Whether they’ll be like their parents? Are they making enough money? If they have a wife that works, will he be able to pull the weight of two. What if she decides to stay home? Life won’t be like it was before, etc, etc.
