I am a yoga devotee, but when it comes to losing the baby weight around my middle, evidence suggests that weight training is the way to go. It definitely slows down weight-gain as women age.
According to a new study, women who lift weights have better control over the dangerous abdominal fat that can lead to heart disease.

Tim Horton was a famous Canadian hockey player who died in a terrible car crash. Today, his name lives on in the form of a chain of donut shops he founded. I bring this up for two reasons. The first is that Tim Horton’s Donuts is something of a Canadian institution even though it is now owned by the same American conglomerate that owns Wendy’s Hamburgers. Taking Stock

Looking back over The Long List of Discomforts that I wrote a month after giving birth, I am amazed at how much I have recovered from. The female body truly is a remarkable thing.
The rash I thought would never go away is gone. The excessive sweating from shedding the fluid gained over the course of pregnancy has stopped.
All I am really still dealing with is the lack of sleep issue, but I don’t think that ever goes away. There’s still a dull ache in my hips and a constant back ache from bad posture when carrying the baby and nursing. …read more

I can’t decide if this article is about a very insightful book, or if it’s just a joke. When it’s Not on your Plate It Doesn’t Count: The Top Ten Reasons Women Have Trouble Sticking to a Diet from Maclean’s magazine is a review of the book Ten Habits the Mess Up a Woman’s Diet by Elizabeth Somer. Women fail at dieting, it seems, because we’re dishonest, delusional and eat other people’s food.
