47 Extra Minutes of Sleep

If your baby is less than 6 weeks old, sleeping through the night may interfere with proper breast feeding and the general health of your newborn. You might though, be able to get an extra 47 minutes between interuptions though. According to an article in the Toronto Star, recent released research from the University of Toronto can help achieve the extra shut eye.
The research, published in the journal Sleep, offers a number of simple tips to help new mothers get more rest.
My Sleep Obsession

Regular readers will know that if there is one obsession that governs my life it is sleep.
About a week ago, the baby and I had a few rough night while she cut her first tooth. The same day I wrote my blog entry on the topic, Weary Parent posted these tips for getting a good night’s sleep. A Memory

I had a horrible memory of when I was university today. I was on my way to work and the phrase “I’ll sleep when I am dead,” came to me. I said that about 15 years ago when life demanded that I balance writing university papers with work and parties. Remembering I once felt that way made me feel a little sick.

Sleep to Stay Thin

You may have guessed that, since having the baby, I am obsessed with getting enough sleep.
True, I can no longer tell you what “enough” sleep is. I guess I need 9 or 10 hours and I probably get 6 or 7 every night. The baby waking isn’t so much as issue now. It’s more my own thoughts about tasks left undone that keep me awake.
You may also have guessed that, since having the baby, I am obsessed with my weight.
