The first thing I noticed was how thing these blankets are, these are meant to swaddle the baby but not to be used as a blanket outside in the cold. With that being stated lets go explore the blankets.

The Koala Kuddles Swaddle blankets are made of 100% cotton and each time you wash it it actually gets softer. It does too, I tried just to make sure. I’m not sure what the packaging is made of but it feels really smooth, there is just something about the box that I like.  You can choose from Australian animals, polka dots or an assortment of both.

The side of the Swaddling box actually has instructions on how to swaddle your baby using the blanket. These are step by step, with picture instructions on how to do it. Moms will love the light weight blankets because it means no overheating the baby, they may also like the privacy it gives them when it comes to breastfeeding. Babies will love it because it is soft, breathable and acts as the perfect security to drag around with them.

Sure you can toss on the blankets, however babies really like to feel secure and swaddling them is one of the most recommended ways. Now have you tried wrapping your baby in that perfect way the nurses seemed to do it every time they brought you him or her and you just can’t do it? Not to worry, here are a few steps I’ve learned along the way.

Steps to Swaddle Your Baby

1.  Grab a blanket and try it on a doll or a stuffed animal.

2.  Lay the blanket in a diamond and take the top corner and fold it until meets just above the center. Make sure there is enough room at the bottom to bring it up to your baby’s center.  Your baby’s neck (doll or stuffed animal) should be right at the center of the fold.

3.  For a real baby bend their arms just slightly and take one side and tuck it under the baby.  

4.  Take the bottom portion of the blanket and bring it up to the baby

5.  With the other side do the same step as #3 but in the opposite direction. Make sure the baby feels snug, otherwise they can wiggle right out.

Keep in mind that even though the cold months are approaching fast you should make sure to overheat your baby. Happy Earth Day! We are a game playing family. Also, we have started a new tradition with extended family at get-togethers. After dinner and dishes out come the games! We play “Taboo” a lot and I think the “Big Taboo” will have to be bought. My youngest son would love the new sleeker looking “Rubik’s Cube!” Please enter me in your drawing.

I am 8 months pregnant and would LOVE this as a free way to send cute baby announcements! I would go with something like the “Girl Scallop Announcement” under Simply Put Designer Cards, but I’d definitely enjoy experimenting with lots of them! My favorite memories I’ve captured on film are a progression of this pregnancy–I take a picture each month wearing the same shirt, so you can see how big I’m growing over time. I’m excited to print them up for the baby book.
