Parents who are nervous about having a five or six year old child when Swine Flu is on the rise could probably safely quadruple their feelings of fear and anxiety to understand how parents of babies under six months of age feel.
A new mom with a three month old child and two school age children probably summed it up best when she said, “I think it is very scary. I’m afraid to go outside.”

Update on Mom in Coma (due to swine flu)

I have been in contact with Valerie Post’s mother-in-law, Bonnie Jones, who has been keeping me informed on what’s going on. For those that may not remember Valerie went to the doctor after having back aches and they wouldn’t go away, she found out that she actually had the swine flu and they would have to have a c-section two months early. During the c-section they had to put Valerie into a medically induced coma in order to save her life.

Swine Flu Puts New Mom into a Coma

Valerie Post, a 24-year-old mom that just gave birth via c-sections currently in a coma. Some sites are stating she is in a medically induced coma while others are stating it happened immediately during delivery, so I’m stating both until it is confirmed. Valerie gave birth two months early after experiencing a sore throat, backache with a fever. But when it wouldn’t go away they went immediately to the hospital, thinking it was just a false alarm. It wasn’t, the doctor quickly figured out she had the Swine Flu, aka H1N1.

Woman with Swine Flu Gives Birth

A newborn baby is fighting for its life at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley when it was born 3 months early because mom came down
with the swine flu. The baby is not suffering from the flu but being born too early. The mother is critically ill and no updated news has been released, the baby is being cared for in the intensive care unit. Hopefully we’ll hear good news in this case soon. Bronx Baby Dies from Swine Flu

That’s right, just when you thought the swine flu (H1N1) was over it strikes again, this time in a baby. This makes the third infant death due to the swine flu. The baby was only 11 weeks old and suffering from flu-like symptoms when they laid him down for a nap. When the parents went to check on him a little while later he appeared to be unconscious and was immediately taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead there. The second baby has died from what is believed to be the swine flu, err H1N1 disease. This is the same flu that a baby boy in Texas died from at the beginning of the announcement. Baby Dies from Swine Flu

The first official death has hit the United States when it comes to the Swine Flu and it was a baby boy from Texas. Currently there are 66 cases of those infected with the swine flu in the United States, 45 in New York, 11 in California, six in Texas, two in Kansas and one each in Indiana and Ohio. They do believe there are more, in fact they have already confirmed a few of those were children in New York and over 100 kids were sick earlier this week and are now thinking it could be related.
