Ok. Let me add to my earlier post. Talk therapy does seem to lower stress levels and help women experiencing one kind infertility, conceive.
Score 1 for Herr Doctor Freud.
We all know that infertility isn’t funny, BUT according to a study conducted at Assaf Harofeh Medical Centre in Zerifin, Isreal, laughter is actually still the best medicine. The hospital introduced clown-therapy to women undergoing IVF and increased their odds of conceiving to 1 in 3 from 1 in 5 says a report in The Scotsman.

“Just relax! It will happen when it’s meant to happen.”
Those must be the most infuriating words any couple trying to conceive have ever heard.
Unfortunately, there might be something to this insensitive remark.
It’s a study of just 16 patients, but apparently some women who experience infertility are being successfully treated, not with hormones, but with talk therapy. According to an article in the Irish Independent (free registration required), researchers have found that cognitive behavioural therapy, a method that focusses on changing how people respond to events, helps women with functional hypothalamic amenorrhoea ovulate.
