I see that the blogger before me, Kate, had started something called: “My Favorite Blog This Week.” I’d like to continue this and give those a shout out and hopefully a bit of traffic. Now don’t forget, if you know the blogger I mention jump in and say something about them. Be positive though, we don’t need negativity about other blogs. If you have any recommendations be sure to voice them so that others can visit as well. Who knows your pick might even be my pick in one of the upcoming weeks.

With that being stated I’d like to give a shout out to all the previous blogs that were mentioned:

#1 Tree Hugging Family by Jennifer Chait- Jennifer is talking about tree baby names for your child, I like River for a boy and Willow for a girl. She’s also introducing us to a few organic shirts, take a look.

#2 Writer Mama by Christina Katz- She’s applauding dads that read to their kids at night, mine does that when he’s home, otherwise he does it on the weekends. Christina has a link to Jennifer Glatzer’s interview Metropolitan Mama and a comic about Reality TV and why they just don’t do one for writers. Ya know it is a shame. hehe

#3 Spooky’s Blog- I’m sorry to say this one seems to be gone. Be careful to make sure you type in or click the link, otherwise you get another blog that isn’t for kids.

#4 Summer’s Nook by Summer- Summer’s handing out awards and memes. But if you scroll down you can jump into a conversation about french fries in cars. I totally agree, I find them pushed all the way in the seat. Ikk.

# 5 Free Rice site- Today’s word is tranquility, ya know the thing you get when all kids are sleeping. Hmm, oh nevermind you are pooped when they finally go down.

#6 Life on the Other Side of the Pond by Maria- This week Kevin took a fall and will have to sit out for the next few days. Maria shares a food blog with us and lets us know that her little boy is taking well to the medicine. He recently had an ear infection, poor guy, I had two kids that had that last two weeks. Hope he’s feeling better.

#7 The Family Groove- The blog jam is a lot of fun, it allows moms/dads to jump into the conversations and speak your mind. We all know reality can bite sometimes, voice it.

#8 Ratphooey- Ratphooey slipped down the stairs this week. Ouch! I know the pain, I did that the second week of living here, but instead of it being my sock on my foot it was a slipper. Hope the pain goes away soon, my foot still hurts from it.

#9 My Name Is Mommy by Kerri- Kerri and her husband fasted for Easter but was very happy to eat their Ham when the time came. She also chats about having enough chocolate to last her through it. Man that would be one thing that I would go nuts over. She even went on a hike with her kids in the woods. Sounds like fun, I walked down the road to Sheridan’s (Frozen Yogurt) yesterday with the girls and the wee one.

#10 Blog Fabulous by Tracee Sioux- Tracee was on the radio yesterday talking about A New Earth. Don’t forget to search around and read her other entries, maybe the birth control in our water or learn how Paul McKenna will make ya thin.

#11 Slacker Moms R Us- The design alone will keep me coming back, but this mom shows us all that it is okay to slack. No mom is supermom right? Geez, tell me I”m right. Currently someone is scraping her site, I hate that. Learn how she got her site removed from the copycat site.

#12 Girls Need Guitars by Diana- Once again, this one seems to have disappeared.

#13 Workout Mommy- For those of us looking for a way to lose that baby weight, this is the blog for you. Lisa shares what she bought this week, an article on how celebrities stay thin and a fitness challenge.

#14 PPD Connect by Doryn Wallach- Dealing with postpartum depression or wondering if you have it this may be the connection you need. But it was last updated Jan 2008.

Now for my favorite blog, but I’m changing it to Spotlight Site of the Week. #1 Spotlight of the week goes to …….. 5 Minutes for Mom. Every day of the week they are posting something exciting and this dual team, also identical twin sisters (Jancie and Susan) just gave birth within weeks apart of each other. Not only do they do reviews, interviews, chat about mommy related things but they also give out prizes every week. Head on out and stop in to say hi to them.

Tuesday-Tackle it Tuesday
Wednesday- Wordless Wednesday

Do you have any picks for the week?

Jennifer and Tracee are both fellow bloggers. Both of them entered the Generous December Group Writing Project, both of them comment here on a regular basis, and both of them have let me know that they are in my corner all the time.
They have one more thing in common.
In her entry, Tracee asked her readers to consider volunteering as mentors to girls. Jennifer told us how important mentoring was to her during her “interesting” childhood.

In her entry, Tracee asked her readers to consider volunteering as mentors to girls. Jennifer told us how important mentoring was to her during her “interesting” childhood.

Friends, I want to show you the support you have shown me over the time we’ve shared blogging. I couldn’t donate to both of the causes you each designated, so I found a compromise. I gave $15 to Big Brothers Big Sisters International. I thought it was the best way to send my appreciation of you both as far as possible.

Big love.
