5 Weaning Tips

These are various tips from readers, friends and my own experiences. I hope someone can help these helpful and remember if you have a tip on how to wean your breastfed child please let us know in the comments.

Time To Wean

As a mother to four children that I have each breastfed I came to the decision that with my last child I’d wean him before he turned a year old. While I know many believe that you wean a child when they decide, sometimes it is just something a mom must do. My youngest’s first birthday will be on the 14th, which means I have less than two weeks left to wean him. Will it happen? I have no clue, but I’ve been trying.
The Great Water Bottle Purge

Right. We’re weaning. Well, it is my intention to wean and the baby’s intention not to let it happen. What I am winning is the battle against water bottles. Like most nursing mothers, I am prone to sudden dehydration. I keep water bottles next to my usual nursing spots. That is, I try to keep water everywhere and often forget all about it.
