We’re playing a new game at our house. It’s called “follow the toddler.” Basically, my little girl does something and I copy her. Much laughter and joy ensues. I have also discovered, it is great exercise. She lies on her belly on the floor, I lie on my belly on the floor, she crawls around in circles, I crawl around in circles. She runs up and down the hallway, I run up and down the hallway. She bends over and peeks between her legs, I bend over and peeks between my legs. I tell you, it’s a great work out. And, a great intro to this month’s Healthy & Fit Family!
To keep this blog carnival readable, we only accept the best ten of all the submissions received. This month, there were a huge number of entries. Luckily, some people ignored the “one submission per blog or blogger” rule, so selection was a bit easier because I could just delete their entries unread. While there were a lot of great entries I didn’t include, that’s because a theme started to emerge as I read the entries. Stress and money were big health concerns this month. They may be more related than we ever thought.
Did you know that the poorer you are, the more likely you are to be fat? Fresh food is more expensive than canned food and some poorer neighborhoods just don’t have stores that sell fresh fruits and vegetables. Does that mean we are condemned to a healthstyle determined by our income?
Tracee had to give up the gym and it is a sad time for her stress level. I had the same feelings when I lost my gym. That said, all is not hopeless. The Free Geek will tell you what a free home gym looks like.
Redomestication has been looking at the price of organic produce and looking for other ways to get the health benefits of avoiding pesticides without spending all that money on organic food.
Breastfeeding remains the single-most healthy and cost-effective means of nurturing a child and yet, many women believe it is not an option for me. For mothers with diabetics, this belief may not be true says Breastfeeding 1-2-3.
I reported that it costs a fortune to give birth in the US. If you’re pregnant or uninsured and looking for affordable health care, you may have been mislead about the help that is available to you. Menstrual poetry has the truth about one of the largest providers for you. Meanwhile, if you’ve been having problems with the financial side of fertility treatments, Fertility notes has some ideas about assistance there.
Looking for cost-effective ways to control your health and your family’s health is more important than you may realise, especially if you live in the US. The Nursing Online Education Database will tell you why.
Hueina has been dealing with some huge health stresses and trying to protect her family from them. This post tells us how she coped.
Kids and stress is a big health problem. Kids’ Health notes reported on one possible solution: the homework-free weekend!
The next carnival will be held on December 4 at A Healthy Balance. Submissions are now open.
