Chicken Soup for the Dieter's Soul: Inspiration and Humor to Help You Over the Hump (Chicken Soup for the Soul)
You may have noticed that, as a the writing genius I know I am, I have always felt neglected and unappreciated for my talents. Especially in the arena of my weight loss expertise. My tight pants theory, my cook for the kids idea, all consigned to the margins of weight loss literature. And yet, I did weigh 223 pounds in January of 1999. and now I weigh about much, much less (although, I still have some work to do).

There is nothing you can’t do to lose more than 40 pounds too. Stopping the alcohol, eating less and jogging 5km four days a week helped me.

The rest of it was emotional and that transformation is in my essay in the above book. I haven’t read it yet, but I hope the other writers will have some help for me too.

Congratulations on your work being published and on the weight loss. I certainly need to do something about my weight. Maybe this book could offer some encouragement for me.

    Thanks Karen,

I still have 20 pounds to go and I have too start over a little after each pregnancy so I need some inspiration too.

  3. Revka says:

Congratulations! That is certainly an accomplishment worth talking about and celebrating.

  1. [...] Kate over at Babylune is one of the essayists in the new Chicken Soup for the Dieter’s Soul: Inspiration and Humor to Help You Over the Hump! I am vicariously basking in her glory! Bloggers are writers, but somewhere in the back of my mind I equate it to how television actors generally aspire to be in the movies–bloggers probably all have a book aspirations. 3. [...] Happy New Year! Extending the time between carnivals from one week to one month has really improved the number and quality of the submissions. As usual, choosing the best ten was tough. So I made an exception. It’s time for those new years resolutions and naturally, everyone has something to say about weight loss. Even me. [...]

  5. [...] It seems that losing weight is on nearly everyone’s New Years Resolution list. I know it’s on mine, unfortunately every year it seems. A fellow blogger has gotten an essay published in the latest Chicken Soup book. This one is Chicken Soup for the Dieters Soul. The essayist is Kate Bogget from the blog Babylune which I’ve mentioned before. She’s got some great stuff on her blog aimed at new mothers and their health, as well as some good family tips. 6. [...] St. Valentine’s Day is in 12 days. If you are like me, you will be greeted at the end of the work day with a bottle of wine and a bundle of grocery store flowers with the 1.99 price tag still attached. Still, marriage is not about presents or recognition. Not even when you move to another continent to help someone live his dream, not even when you give him two children and get up with one or both of them every night while he sleeps even though both of you have to work in the morning. But, that, is beside the point. I am making reading this blog about presents. Well, one present for one reader. Leave a comment on any new post written between February 2 and 14th 2007 and I will reward the most thoughtful, helpful comment with a copy of Chicken Soup for the Dieter’s Soul in which my essay “My Last Twenty Pounds” appears. The recipient of the gift will be announced on 15 February. Can you feel the love? [...]

  9. [...] And, apparently, she also has a story featured in Chicken Soup for the Dieter’s Soul: Inspiration and Humor to Help You Over the Hump. I haven’t seen Kate’s submission yet, but I’m guessing that at least parts of it fall in the “humor” category. I will definitely be getting this book! Partly because I think there will be lots of stories that I can relate to, and partly because it will be so fun to have a book with Kate’s writing in it! I wonder if I can get it autographed. [...]
