Things Kids Say

BalletGirl has this thing about telling me things that have happened to her. Here is the latest:
“Mom, did you know I picked you?”
I kind of look up and say oh okay. But she gets that I don’t either believe her or know what she’s saying.
“No really mom. I picked you.”
I’m a bit confused and say okay. Why’d ya pick me.
“Well I was somewhere else and I was looking at all the teenagers and saw you. I knew you’d be my mom.”
I realize she’s talking about picking me to be her mom, before she was born. Honey, you were born later though. Hey, I was curious what she’d say.
She shrugs her shoulders like, duh and responds, “Yeah, I had to pick you twice. I waited in the room and then a few years later they asked if I wanted you still and I knew I did and then I went into your tummy.”
All I could say was, “Wow, I’m glad you picked me.” I mean what do you say to something like that, right?
What has your kid said to you lately? eliza.ferree@b5media.com

Never say anything in front of a child that you don’t want later revealed!
I love to read some of the things kids say. Thanks for the giveaway!
My daughter and I have almost identical birth marks on our legs. When she was little she told me that she picked me to be her Mommy because we matched. She went on to say that she would never get lost because she would just have to look for the match and she would know it was me.
Love the words out of the mouth of babies, honest and sweet.
Have a great day!
thanks!
Mommy….your mustache is back!

Thank you so much for an opportunity to win!
Last weekend my grandson was spending the weekend with us and right before he fell asleep he asked if tomorrow was the day I had to go to work. I told him yes. He then said that he wanted to stay with me till Christmas! LOL
Loved your story. It makes you wonder if they really do pick us.
I am loving Blogtoberfest! It’s so fun to enter for surprises!
That teared me up! My kids don’t say mushy stuff yet…..they just tell me they love me 50 times a day, lol! I love it!!
Cute blog, enter me
that’s really cute and sweet. it’s amazing what comes out of kids’ mouths.
That is the sweetest thing ever. Thanks for the chance to win.
Ahhh how funny! I give my children the opposite story. When they are mad at me, I tell them…”Hey, you must have been misbehaving if God sent you to me…the world’s meanest mom!” That always ends the comments, because they cannot stand it when I call myself the world’s meanest mom and seem to take pride in it! LOL! Most of the time they think I am so sweet, but it is amazing when they are disciplined that they decide I am mean. ROFL! As if that is going to make me let them get away with their behavior. They seem to know so early on that we want them to treasure us.
PLEASE COUNT ME IN ON THIS AWESOME GIVEAWAY
Oh to see the world from the viewpoint of a child again

My daughter asked me about daddy-how we met, etc.
What a sweet thing she said
My daughter hasn’t been so sweet lately. Her most recent comment was about calling the cops on me because I told her it was nap time and turned the tv off.. LOL kids!!
Aww, very heartwarming.
Blogtoberfest is so much fun!
That the toothfairy stole her tooth because it was gone and there wasn’t any money under her pillow!
I would love to win a surprise!
The most wonderful feeling was after months of my teen only grunting or even snarling at me over everything one day he suddenly gave me a hug and said ” I love you mom.”
Wonder what caused that.
Cute story
What a sweet story. Kinda makes you wonder about all the things they are tuned into.
Hey Mom – you’re smart. gosh, who knew?
Hi… I can’t help but wonder, Can they really do that? Can they remember? One day my 4 y/o son said to his dad: I remember when I was in mummy’s belly, it was warm… and I liked it there…
I’m not sure if they really can, but if not… they really do have a great imagination!!!
this is soooo sweet! i always say i love you to my mom but i never said any of that! its soo cute!!!!
